Adventures in Learning!

We were looking for more learning adventures this week!
We were busy learning AND teaching...

Some dinosaurs came roaring into our classroom to start off the week.

We even invented our own dinosaurs.
It was such a DYNOMITE day, we named our new butterfly "Triceratops".

It was time to let our little friend go free.
"Triceratops" didn't want to leave at first.

It took awhile, but he is flying free now!  We have seen him twice on the playground.  :)

Tuesday we made some new friends!
We met our Prayer Pals!

They are such special people!
They took time out of their ACTS Bible study to meet us.
Their smiles brightened our day!

We enjoyed visiting with them...

reading with them...

and hearing all kinds of wonderful stories!

We are excited to see them again.
They promised to pray for us, and we will pray for them.

We are very excited about our special new Prayer Pals.
This week we also loved hearing about Joseph and his coat of many colors so...

We made our own fancy coats.
Our adventures continued as we headed outside on Wednesday.
The 8th graders were having a ROCKET LAUNCH!
Some went high in the sky!

We were very impressed!
Some went really far and made us cheer with excitement!

The kindergartners can't wait to be in 8th grade and make rockets of their own.

We rolled right into learning about...

APPLES!

We were busy putting apples on our trees...

When Mrs. Wegener joined us for some letter fun.

We read a book called That Apple is Mine!

So we had to describe our apples.

Some thought they were good enough to eat!
Others thought they were good for rolling.

Who knew apples were so much fun to paint with?!

Such beautiful masterpieces.
We also investigated apples.
We made some predictions and then tested out our predictions.  APPLES FLOAT!
APPLE ADVENTURE  DAY
 brought some more fun learning.
They were busy examining apples for bumps, bruises and marks.

They discovered some spots on the apples.
Some of the apples were very interesting.
Balancing the apples was another challenge we had.
They worked hard, but they got it!
Taste testing some apples was also a fun experiment we had.
We voted for our favorite.  HONEY CRISP won!
The last station was coring apples.

We were excited to see what would happen to the apples...
We had one final experiment to end our adventures.
We dropped vinegar onto our paper apples smothered with baking soda.
The fizzy mess made some interesting artwork!
APPLE ADVENTURE DAY ended with eating the applesauce we made from the cored apples.

Most of the kids LOVED it!
Some even asked for seconds!
It was a GREAT week of adventures!
