Merry Christmas

We wrapped up our Christmas adventures...

with some very special projects and lots of fun!

We finished up the letter J with lots of learning adventures.

We read the book Polar Express.  We then took a journey on a "train".  

The children had to find the right tickets to get on the train.

Mrs. Helmkamp also showed up.  She taught the children how to take pictures on their train trip.

They each received a letter ticket and had to take pictures 

of something that might start with that letter on their journey through the class room.

Jingle bells were also fun to explore with!

The magnatiles made some interesting cases for the bells.

To end our day Mrs. Haun came in and read to us about...

 an old lady that swallowed a bell!

The children were AMAZED at everything else she swallowed too!

It was a GREAT story!

The best part was when she reminded us that we celebrate Christmas because of Jesus!

The children LOVED having Mrs. Haun come to read.

Our Christmas fun continued

as we headed over to church

to visit with our Prayer Pals!

We were very excited to see them!

We made them some special Christmas cards

and wished them a Merry Christmas!

We then sang some Christmas songs with them!

They are very good singers.

We impressed them with our singing talents too!

As always, they left us filled with smiles...

and I'm pretty sure we brightened their day too!

It was a GREAT way

to celebrate Christmas!

We didn't want to leave our fun friends,

but we new more adventures awaited us!

Back in the classroom we had some candy cane fun!

We LOVED working with candy canes!

We tried out all kinds of crazy things with them!

Miss Bethany even came to help out.

She taught us how to balance big and little candy canes.

It was quite challenging.

AND it was quite the balancing act!

The children even got to make candy canes letters.

Some even made their own name!

We did some more fun experiments with candy canes.

We tested out to see what would happen to the candy cane in water, ice water, and vinegar.

Who knew candy canes could be so much fun!

We were stocking up all the fun we could to end the week!

Some very special people arrived...

to help with our Christmas party!

We loved the yummy food too!

Making stockings was one of the fun activities the children were able to work at.

You could see their creative minds at work.

The results were beautiful!

Ornament making was another special activity they got to do.

It was a little tricky getting all of the fun stuff to fit inside!

Fun games like snowball bowling also showed up at our party.

Candy cane fun popped up at the party too!

This time we went fishing for candy canes.

It was a great party filled with lots of smiles and lots of fun!

We really didn't want the party to end...

and we really didn't want our visitors to leave!

We hope they stop by again soon!

No matter what gifts we got this Christmas, we know the best gift is JESUS.
