One T-rrific Spidery Week!

Here we go again...

Another exciting week ahead!

Mrs. Jennings blasted us off to a great start to the week!

Another round of pizza topping relays!

Mrs. Jennings knows how to get us moving and SMILING!

We kicked off our nursery rhyme unit with this twist on the "Itsy Bitsy Spider".

The Itsy Bitsy Spider was looking for her spout.

The kids had to grab a "spout" card from the bucket

and match it to the correct capital letter spider.

We were also trying to help some spiders
 find their webs.

The kids had to match the beginning sounds for this game.

Next up was using their spider rings to find the pictures that started with "Ss".

They had to look carefully in the spiderweb to find them!

The kids are LOVING going to the library!

More spider fun popped up in the afternoon with our gluey spider webs.

We also discovered a new math tool called geoboards.

We used them to create spider webs (and strengthen our fingers!).

Our giant spider web was back in the afternoon.

This time it helped us practice "subitizing" and writing our numbers.

The kids had a blast making spouts for the "spiders" to climb down.

Once their spout was made,

they dropped their spider (a.k.a marble)

and waited to see if it would make it down the spout!

Our spider web caught a lot of letters on Tuesday!
This time we were matching the spiders to their rhyming webs.

They worked as one big team to get it done.

Our fingers got a workout with this activity.

They carefully used tweezers to work their way through the web
to pull out a spider.

Then they put the spider on a letter that their friend had to practice writing.
Mrs. Drury took the kids outside for this spidery adventure.

They had to hop through the spider web

as they said the name of the letter and the letter sound they landed near.

We were introduced to our new illustrator of the month Ed Emberley when we read this beautiful book.

The tweezers were back to help us with this math activity.

After spinning and writing the matching number,

the kids had to slide spiders down the stick.

Our gluey creations turned into beautiful masterpieces.

Music with Mrs. Crumrine was quite an adventure!

The kids practiced keeping the rhythm using different instruments.

After music class, we headed to church for chapel.

Pastor Rouland was back with his good friend Rupert!

Thank you SO much for your generosity!  Our school has brought in over $1200 already!

We also celebrated Lucas' baptismal birthday!

Back in the classroom, we were busy playing monster tag!

We also played a pumpkin seed matching game.

A top also showed up, and the kids had to try to get it to land on words that started with Tt.

Twister was great way to ge these kids moving and practicing their letters.

The kids had SO much fun playing this game!

Don't be surprised if this tricky little games shows up again sometime!

After hearing this nursery rhyme story,
the kids rolled two dice
to see how many raindrops needed to land on the clouds.

They also used colorful raindrops to decorate a coat of many colors.

Ms. Steinbacher was also back to help us with our memory verse.

The kids used the pictures to. help retell the story.

Thursday we were all set to celebrate our T-PARTY!

The kids had a T-rrific day!

We started off getting our last Fruit of the Spirit in our jar!  YAY! We are excited to celebrate next week!

For Jesus time we finished our story of Joseph forgiving his brothers.  We couldn't believe one of the "brothers" took a silver cup from the palace!

The kids loved telling this story and singing their Bible verse.  I hope they share it with you!

For math we were busy tossing "toast".  I worked hard to catch it while the kids counted.

Then the waiter had to deliver the toast to the plates.

We had to figure out how many pieces of toast were left after we filled up our giant 10 frame.

Before we officially started our T-party, we read this wonderful story.

Then the kids set out on a t-shirt hunt.

They had to look for certain letters hiding on the t-shirts.

Their special friends joined them on the hunt.

For our t-party the kids enjoyed some toast that they tore to look like the letter T.

Mrs. Donner came to help us with our zip-line!
The kids sent the alphabet t-shirts down the zip-line to their friend.

The next friend had to find a picture that matched the letter.

The last step was to write the letter and type the letter.

The kids had a GREAT time with this tea pouring activity!

They each chose a tiny cup

and had to guess how many cups it took to fill up Miss Spider's teacup.

They got a little wet, but they didn't seem to mind.

It definitely was a T-rrific day!

We ended the week with another fun nursery rhyme book.
The kids worked hard to find the matching dishes to their spoons.
They also enjoyed going outside and launching the cow over the letter moons.

They also enjoyed playing this Jack and Jill game!

Jack and Jill went the hill to fetch a pail of letters.

They came back with the letter that makes the /t/ sound!

Humpty Dumpty also brought us some letters.
The kids checked their egg to see what letter was inside.

Then the kids used this new magnetic tools to write the letter.

After reading this clever sequel to Humpty Dumpty...
The kids got to work making their own walls for Humpty Dumpty.

Once their wall was built,

they used the magnetic wand to get the egg to balance.

It was quite the balancing act!

Another GREAT Friday reader showed up!

She had the kids laughing and hee-hawing with her special donkey friend!

We love ending our week with our Friday readers!

YAY!  What a great week!

We will see what adventures pop up next week...
