Here we gooooo again!
A very short week, but we crammed in lots of fun!
We started off with alphabet bingo!
This bingo game had a little twist to it. The cards were pumpkin seed alphabet letters.
After calling out the letter and covering up the seed,
the "caller" had to find the pumpkin that matched their seed.
Then we headed to the tables to sort colorful pumpkin seeds.
When they were done, they had to figure out which colorful seed they had the most of.
Another great trip to the library!
This dice game was quite the challenge!
After rolling the dice, the kids had to use the tweezers to pick up that many seeds.
Then they tried to fill their cups with the seeds.
The kids were also busy making a shape graph.
First they had to spin to see which shape to pick.
Then they laid it out to make a graph.
Tuesday we headed to Eagle Fork Pumpkin Patch for some pumpkin adventures!
We started off with an exciting tractor ride!
Then we headed to a story walk.
The kids LOVED playing in the corn.
They even made corn angels!
The goats were hungry!
Even on a chilly day, you can still make bubbles!
There were some more fun games to play...
Then it was time to pick out the perfect pumpkin!
It was a chilly but beautiful day, filled with lots of fun memories!
Then it was time to head back to school...
The kids were excited to work with their special pumpkins.
They each got to measure their pumpkin with a piece of yarn.
They also used a ruler to measure the height of the pumpkin.
Linking cubes were another tool we used to measure.
Then it was time to weigh the pumpkins.
The heaviest pumpkin was 7 pounds!
The kids also played a pumpkin tower game.
They had to spin first.
Whatever number they spun, was the number they covered.
Painting a pumpkin portrait was also on our list of things to do.
It was a day filled with lots of adventures and smiles!
We started off our Wednesday with Mrs. Crumrine.
She led the kids in singing our songs for church and taught us some new ones too!
A guest speaker from Chapel of the Cross led our chapel. He reminded us that big or small, we all are important children of God.
Our offering is over $1400! Thanks for your generosity.
Back in the classroom, the kids were busy making pumpkin puzzles.
They had to put the letters in the right order to spell a word.
They were so excited when they figured out the word.
The kids were also busy playing the mystery pumpkin game.
While the rest of the team closed their eyes, one friend hid a pumpkin under their cup.
When they picked up their cup, they found a letter that they practiced writing.
Rhyming pumpkins were hiding in the hallway.
The kids had to find the matches and write them down.
Then it was time to weigh our pumpkins.
We measured our little one first, and it didn't even move the dial!
The medium one weighed 4 pounds.
The biggest one weighed 14 pounds!
We can't wait to open these pumpkins up and see what's inside!
The kids also enjoyed making their own pumpkin gardens.
They used the alphabet sticks, gears, and wooden arches. Then they had to hide the alphabet seeds in their creation.
We even had a surprise fire drill in the morning! October is fire safety month, so the fire department came out and ran a surprise fire drill. The kids did great!
In the afternoon, Ms. Steinbacher came and helped us practice our memory verse.
They acted out the story of Moses.
Then they recorded their memory verse.
The kids were also busy balancing items in our classroom.
The pumpkin was heavier than the pumpkin wand.
The two small pumpkins were almost equal!
It was a short, but exciting week!
More crazy adventures headed our way...
