It was a short week,
but WOW what a week we had!
It was quite the balancing act getting everything done.
We tried to balance plastic pumpkins and real pumpkins.
The kids used pumpkin seeds, linking cubes, and square pattern blocks.
We were also busy taking a peek at our special pumpkins.
First we measured our pumpkins with linking cubes.
Then we weighed our pumpkins.
We compared to see whose pumpkin weighed the most.
We also checked to see if our pumpkins floated.
All of them did!
Then we weighed our medium sized pumpkin.
We checked to see if it floated.
Then we weighed our BIG pumpkin! It weighed 18 pounds!
We were shocked that it could float too!
Then it was time to open up the pumpkins.
The big one had LOTS of seeds in it!
The medium pumpkin
had lots of medium-sized seeds.
Then we opened the little pumpkin and found little seeds!
Next we scooped out some of the seeds.
Some of us were excited to scoop out the pumpkin guts!
Some kids were excited
to put their hands inside the pumpkin!
Some kids dug in and grabbed the seeds.
Some picked out the seeds one at a time.
Others thought it felt a little slimy!
Some thought is tickled.
They really enjoyed feeling inside the pumpkin!
We went from one messy, slimy thing to the next.
The kids LOVED playing with the slime.
It was time to put on our SCARECROW faces
as we were all stacked up to have a great day!
The kids had fun playing this stacking cup matching game.
It was a little tricky to get then to stay balanced!
Some special people came
to help out at our party!
We did a little pumpkin ring tossing.
They even tried to toss the ring onto their own pumpkin.
They also ventured out into the hallway for a fun game of
Minute to Win It Pumpkin relay race!
They had to fill their pumpkin with pom poms
We are excited to see what fall adventures
blow in next week brings!
May God's light continue to shine through your children.
They definitely have brought a bright spot to my days!
