LEAVE It to Us!

LEAVE it to us...

to take another short week and fill it with LOTS of adventures!

Chapel with Pastor Rouland had us thinking and smiling.

His AMAZING animal impersonations reminded us to act like Christ.

We also celebrated some baptismal birthdays!

Back in the classroom we were hard at work tossing 10 "leaves" onto the tree.

The partner had to write down how many made it on the tree and how many blew off the tree.

This helped them work on different ways to make 10.

Another way we practiced this was using paper leaves to make a 10 frame.

One person put one color out, the partner had to fill in the missing 10 frame with another color.
We played this same game by ourselves using tweezers and little sparkly  pompoms.

They loved using the sparkly pompoms for leaves.

The kids also enjoyed making fall trees using sticks,

and then they put colorful buttons on for the leaves.

Some trees were really tall.

Some trees were really small.

Each tree was very unique and TREEmendous!

In gym the kids had a blast "raking up leaves".

Once the raked them up, they got to leap over the pile!

Mrs. Collins took the kids on a leaf hunt outside.

The kids were excited to find a lot of fun leaves.

Later in the week we went on another leaf hunt.

This time they used the leaves to create the first letter of their name.

The kids also had fun using a variety of circles

to create some beautiful memory verse artwork.

Some letter leaves blew into our classroom.

The kids worked hard to put the letters together to make words!
They are becoming quite the readers already!

We also used this new "tool" the kids thought looked like a giant thumb!

The kids LOVED smashing the letter that I called out and the letter sound.

The kids can't wait to use them again!

It was a beautiful day to go looking for more leaves.

This time we did some investigating
and reporting.
We had to measure to see how big our leaves were.

We couldn't believe how big some of our leaves were!
We are thankful for the BEAUTIFUL weather and can't wait for next week!
