A Week of Creating and Celebrating

We came back from Easter with smiles on our faces...

 He has risen indeed! Alleluia!

We kicked off our week by heading outside to the "tomb".

The rock was rolled away!  HURRAY for Easter Day!

We joined the preschool and Mrs. Lohmann

for a great Easter celebration!

The kids got their dance moves on and let everyone know that JESUS IS ALIVE!

We did a little celebrating in gym class too as we retold the Easter story using the parachute.

First we walked to the tomb.
Then we made the tomb.

The kids loved peeking over the tomb.

Next we sat inside the tomb.
Jesus wasn't in there!
Then we ran under the parachute to check inside the tomb like Peter and John.

He is risen indeed...

ALLELUIA!

Back in the classroom we were catching  up on some popcorn words.

The kids had to hit the balloon for every letter in the word that they spelled.
The last step was catching the balloon and saying the word.

Swatting "b's" and "d's" was another exciting game we played.

We had a special chapel with Mrs. Lohmann.

She showed us some special Easter eggs

that helped her retell the Easter story.

Her special chapel wasn't over until...

We had one more dance party!
`
As we talked about symmetry...

We created our own symmetrical butterflies.

First we painted one side of the butterfly.
Then we folded it up...

AND surprise!  A beautiful butterfly appeared!
This week we also celebrated Earth Day

by creating with junk!

We talked about how to reuse some things that people were going to recycle or throw away.
The kids worked together

to make quite the creations!
Mrs. Martin also stopped by this week.

She read us a book in Spanish and taught us a few Spanish words.

Our Earth Day fun continued as we talked about plants.
The kids designed a "farmer's market".

They sold "vegetables" at the farmer's market.

And created a garden
complete with watering tools and a fence to protect the crops.

We even painted with veggies.

Who knew asparagus would make such great paint brushes!

Veggie masterpieces!

The veggie fun continued...

when we tested out some veggies.

Delicious!
Our week wasn't done yet...

Our fun Friday reader came and made our week complete!

Looking forward to

some bright sunny days next week!
