Fun All Boxed Up

The word was out that we were in for another great week!

Here is a peek into our week...

We had a very special chapel

led by the 6th graders.

They told us the story of the Lost Sheep.
They even taught us a fun song. "I Just Wanna be Sheep".

We were also busy taking x-rays

of the Little Old Lady Who swallowed some words.
The kids also had fun acting out the story of Hattie and the Fox.

They retold this accumulative tale in their own special way.

MAY DAY brought a special adventure.

We delivered some May Day baskets to 1st grade.

Then we made our way to our 7th grade buddies.

We delivered a giant May Day basket for them.

Mrs. Helmkamp stopped by to help us with our special project in May.

The month of May we will be learning all about different jobs.

Our job this week was building with boxes!

We discovered that a box can be many things.

The kids also discovered how much fun a giant box can be!
They had a great time decorating

and designing a giant box.
They cut it.
Created windows
and doors.
They even wrote their popcorn words on it.

Our box fun continued

at our box store.

The boxes cost more than a pretty penny.

They even had fun finding words on boxes.

Boxes sure stacked up to be

TONS of fun!
To end our week we celebrated Cinco De Mayo day a little early.

The words were hidden under the sombreros.

The kids had to guess which sombrero had the correct word.

OLE!

Mrs. Martin also stopped by again this week.

She read to us BROWN BEAR BROWN BEAR in Spanish.

She also read to us a story her Spanish students wrote for us.

It definitely put a SONRISA on our faces.

Butterflies filled our week with excitement too!

One by one our little caterpillars transformed into butterflies.

It was finally time to let them go.

We waited and waited
for the butterflies to come out of the cage.

Finally one by one the little butterflies got brave.

Even though it was cloudy the butterflies were still able to fly.

One little butterfly needed some extra coaxing to come out.

It stayed on our leaf for a long time before flying into the trees.

We had a surprise to end our Friday.

We didn't have one Friday reader... We had two fun Friday readers!

It was a GREAT way to end our week!
