It was a week filled with sunshine and smiles!
We kicked off our Holy Week adventures,
by spending some time with Mrs. Haun.
She shared with us a special Easter story
that took us all they way through Holy Week
by using some nesting eggs.
The final nesting egg was so tiny but so important because it was completely empty. Like the tomb!
We were also busy learning about flowers this week.
The children put their creative minds to work
and designed their own flowers.
After looking at Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflower painting,
the children set to work on their own masterpieces.
The children also challenged themselves to practice adding
using flower petals.
Some friends from Lutheran High came to visit and sing for us!
They did an amazing job!
Some students especially enjoyed it, because they knew some of the singers REALLY well! :)
We also paid a little visit to our Prayer Pals this week.
We just wanted to stop by
and wish them a Happy Easter!
We hope our special pictures
brought them some Easter joy.

They sure brought joy to our day!
Mr. Debrick also stopped by this week to help us.
He helped us with some of our basketball skills.
We were busy shooting
and rebounding.
And Mr. Debrick was cheering us on through it all!
It was so great to have him stop by!
Jelly Bean Day brought some sweet excitement!
The children had to make jelly bean sentences
and then had to pay for them.
Our jelly bean factory kept us working hard.
We were busy looking for "belly flops".
The kids did a great job of inspecting those beans!
They also worked hard sorting the jelly beans
and of course taste testing them.
I think the kids' favorite part of the factory was painting their jelly beans!
They had to work together to paint with a jelly bean.
Shake, rattle, and roll!
The kids also worked hard to build jelly bean factories.
Some even created sugar sprayers and fire alarms.
To end our jelly bean adventures we did a little experiment.
We couldn't believe our eyes when the colors of the jelly beans
Started melting into a rainbow because of the water.
We had another visitor stop by this week. She taught us about capacity.
Miss Julia was back with her crazy cooking skills.
This time we were trying to figure out
how many eggs each basket could hold.
We didn't just guess, we tossed the eggs into the basket.
The final challenge was a GIGANTIC basket.
It held over 60 plastic eggs before we ran out of eggs!
Miss Julia' s friend, Miss Betty, stopped by to say hi too!
Our week was not complete until we headed to church to celebrate Maundy Thursday
with the whole school.
Then we headed back over to school to "close up the tomb" with preschool.
Each child was able to make a cross on the "stone",
reminding us of all the things Jesus went through for us.
We will get together again to celebrate Jesus' resurrection.
Back in our classroom we were busy celebrating Easter a little early.
Mrs. Helmkamp stopped by along with the Beebots.
The Beebots were dressed as bunnies and were delivering eggs.
Egg hunting also kept us working hard.
We were hunting for words using magnetic wands.
The kids also had great time designing egg towers.
Some even "read" a manual to talk them through it step by step.
They even came up with a "hidden egg" trick!
We ended our day by going on a little egg hunt.
The kids searched everywhere for the eggs.
They found some eggs with candy in them
and some with stickers too.
They even found a special egg
that had a seed hidden in it.
My mom even gave me special Easter window clings to give to the kids.
The best part of the hunt was finding a special cross.
It was quite the week, reminding us how AMAZING our God is.
We are looking forward to another great week of celebrating God's love!
