Once again we were all stacked up
to have another great week!
Dr. Seuss was on the loose as we kicked off the week with One, Fish Two Fish...
We caught some fish in a net and had to spell the fish.
We hoped the fish didn't jump out of our nets!
Hop on Pop also showed up!
We hopped from number to number.
We never did hop on pop!
We were also busy with a few other projects
and making messes.
Those messes actually turned out
to be beautiful masterpieces.
Wacky Wednesday brought some very interesting adventures to our room.
Some wacky students showed up!
Despite their wacky costumes,
they had great self-control.
Our wacky adventures began by crawling through some tunnels.
We had to choose which tunnel might lead us to a real word
and try to avoid the wacky word.
We also crawled through the tunnels
to find numbers.
It was tons of fun!
The wackiness continued with noodles!
The kids made some amazing designs with noodles.
They even got messy and painted with noodles!
After reading Wocket in My Pocket
the kids designed their very own creatures.
They are quite the rhymers and quite the creators!
GO CARDS! Mr. Debrick declared Thursday CARDINALS DAY!
These Cardinals fans were also hard at work.
They made some more a-MAZING creations.
Next week they will work on a special coding project to go with their maze designs.
We also talked about wind this week!
We created our own wind as we worked on putting together
some sentences about weather.
Our windy fun continued with our windy artwork.
The kids worked hard to blow the paint into some beautiful designs.
Our wind catchers were also a great adventure we had with wind.
The kids had a great time running and catching wind!
They noticed when they ran fast, they caught ALOT of wind.
But when they walked, they didn't catch quite as much.
We even managed to outrun the raindrops that started to sprinkle on us!
We celebrated Cat in the Hat with Hat Day!
We had some sun hats.
Some Cardinals hats.
And some hats that made us smile.
Mixed up hat sentences had the kids putting their thinking caps on.
They were up for any challenge that we threw at them.
The kids even made their own hat book!
Our journey to the cross began this week.
We had our own little parade as we talked about Jesus' triumphant ride into Jerusalem.
Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
Mrs. Martin stopped by to help us learn more about prayer.
She taught us about a special way to pray called a PATH prayer.
Praise
Apologize
Thanksgiving
Help
Our Dr. Seuss adventures continued
as the 7th graders joined us for BREAKOUT session with Dr. Seuss.
The kids had to figure out some clues.
Every time they opened a box, they found a letter inside.
The clues took them all over the school.
The clues kept the kids on their toes.
Some clues were even a little fishy!
They found mixed up beds
and rhyming words.
The key to success was teamwork!
When it was all done the kids relaxed with their 7th grade friends
and read a few Dr. Seuss stories.
Then is was time to open the final lockbox.
Inside were some special treasures.
We finished our fun week of adventures with a special fun Friday reader!
Hats off to another great week!
