It was an aMAZE-ing week!
We built memory after memory.
We kicked off our study of weather by talking about SNOW!
We practiced writing words in the "snow".
That March Lion couldn't stop our fun with his mighty roar!
Along with snow comes MITTENS!
After reading The Mitten by Jan Brett
the children retold the story.
Sometimes they changed the ending a little bit. :)
We shook things up a bit
by painting mittens with marbles.
These kids really got into moving that marble around.
It was quite the exercise!
They even had to shake their arms out they were so tired.
It was worth the work.
The mittens turned out marvelous!
Some mice also popped into our classroom this week.

Mrs. Aslin was quite the magician and made them disappear and even turned them into words.

The kids had a great time making mazes for the mice.
Our week was also focused on saying good-bye to ALLELUIA
as we prepared for the season of Lent.
The children decorated butterflies and alleluias
and then placed them in a black box
Mrs. Helmkamp is going to seal the box up as we wait for a great big Easter celebration.
Wednesday we went to a very special chapel.
Miss Bethany reminded us that only Jesus could wash away our sins.
Each student also received some ashes on their forehead
or on their hand as a reminder of Jesus dying on the cross for their sins.
Our week continued with a little monkey business!
We put a new twist on playing monkeys in a barrel.
The monkeys had to pick up a word
then we wrote down the word and some even made a sentence with the word.
We crammed a lot into this week, but we still weren't done...
Thursday our grandparents arrived!
We had a lot of fun with them!
Here is a little video about our day...
We have been working on writing messages to our friends as part of our morning meeting.
One little girl wrote: "Thank you God for everything!" Yes, indeed. We truly do have a lot to be thankful for!
