Another MARVELOUS week.

We were in search for another MARVELOUS week!
We kicked off the week with a monstrously fun time.

The kids carefully fed this monster some popcorn words.

They had to be careful so their fingers didn't get nibbled!

They also enjoyed building and creating their own monsters.

No worries, these were friendly monsters.

We did some monster math too.
The monster numbers kept disappearing!

We also played a monster match game which was full of emotions.

It was a tough game, but the kids were up for the challenge.

Our monster adventures were not complete until Mr. Marolf showed up.
He read to us his favorite children's book... Where the Wild Things Are.
We ROARED our terrible roars.
We are still working on the "be still" part.

But Mr. Marolf promises to return and help us practice.

We also had some fun with music.

We were making musical words with bells.

The kids had to search for the right bells.

When they found the right ones, they rang the word!

The kids also enjoyed playing music on the iPads.

They were able to choose an instrument and create their own song with it.

Listening to Peter and the Wolf was very exciting for the kids.

They illustrated the story as the characters came to life with music.

The illustrations they came up with were amazing!

Our musical adventures weren't complete until we played musical chairs.

This game had a little twist to it...

There were popcorn words hiding on their chairs!
Chapel this week was led by Student Council.

We even found some familiar faces there!
Building marble runs continued our marvelous week of fun.

It required a lot of teamwork.

The kids could hardly wait to see where the marble would end up.

It was pure excitement to see the results!

March madness has officially begun in our classroom.

As we learn about basketball, we are writing to my brother's basketball team at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska.  We hope they write us back soon!

We were also busy learning more about weather this week.

Lighting and thunder entered our classroom!

We played a fun game of tag.

One child was lightning while the other was the thunder.
Rain was pouring down outside, so we made it rain in our classroom.

The kids made a beautiful rainy day picture, complete with an umbrella.

The kids also tested out their adding skills by adding some "rain drops".
The rain brought in some rainbows.

The kids also practiced mixing colors

and created some amazing rainbows.

We were dealing up some fun to end our week.

It was GREEN DAY!
We made some green doughy alphabet

and spun some green word races.

We even created our very own green paint

and painted some green shamrocks.
We were not laying down on the job...
We were busy creating green masterpieces.

And finding the leprechaun's pot of gold.

Our green adventures continued as we read the book Oobleck  by Dr. Seuss.
We then got to feel what oobleck might have felt like.

The thought it felt gooey

and slimey
and just plain icky!
Most of all the kids thought it was amazingly fun!
Our green adventures weren't complete

until we had some green eggs and ham!

Some kids LOVED it so much

they wanted the recipe!

Other children, well....

They wouldn't eat them here or there. They would not eat them any where!  :)

We had a wonderful week with so many fun adventures.

Bring on the sunshine!
