It was one beautiful week!
We walked into our classroom to find our caterpillars had formed cocoons!
It was a great start to our week!
We wanted to help start Mrs. Thomason's week off right too...
So we shared a special Thank You card with Mrs. Thomason for all of her hard work...
before we headed into the church for a wonderful concert.
Some students from Lutheran High came and performed for us.
Talking about flowers,
seeds and plants
also helped us continue celebrating Earth Day.
Each kindergartner picked out a seed and planted it.
We'll see if it grows!
The kids also did an amazing job of drawing flowers Vincent Van Gogh style.
Then Mrs. Boettcher showed up! She is not just an amazing cook...
She also knows a lot about flowers!
She showed the kids a lot of different seeds and plants.
We loved having her come to talk to us!
Vegetables also popped up in our classroom.
Who knew they would be so fun to paint with!
We also enjoyed creating our own little gardens.
These kindergartners were also very brave...
and tried a bunch of different veggies.
Some were not quite as excited about them as others!
Our Earth Day fun continued as we took "junk"...
and turned it into TREASURES!
This kids are quite the inventors!
They worked so hard
on turning junk into some marvelous creations.
Boxes also brought us some excitement!
They had fun searching for words on boxes.
And turning a refrigerator box
into a house!
They painted the box...
and put windows into the house.
They had a great time once the box was complete.
Who knew boxes could be so much fun!
They also got creative with boxes in the classroom.
They even made a train!
Our week finished with one more adventure...
Cleaning up our school!
The kids were SO excited to pick up the litter around our campus!
One kindergartner said, "I can't believe picking up junk is so much fun!"
They worked so hard to pick up as much trash as possible.
These little kindergartners are ready to SAVE THE EARTH!
