It was an aMAZEing week!
The kids had a great time working with wind.
They blew some words to their partners
and then had to read the word.
They also built mazes
and had to blow the words through the maze.
It was X-citing to work with the letter x...
X marked the spot of more learning adventures...
as the pirate sound -ar also showed up
which caused some of the kids to walk the plank!
Mrs. Washburn even took their treasure, so they told her to walk the plank!
Going to see our Prayer Pals
was also a very exciting event in our week!
We enjoyed telling them stories
and sharing pictures with them too.
One Prayer Pal even showed us his tractor!
We enjoyed singing songs for them
and a little dancing too!
We can't wait to see them one more time before the end of the year.
We kicked off the month of May
by delivering May Day baskets to some 3rd graders.
We were very sneaky as we left through the "secret passageway".
It was a ZOO in our classroom!
The kids did a great job of reading the zoo maps
and then designing their own zoo.
They had to measure how far a part the animals should be in the classroom.
Then some real animals showed up!
Miss Carla is a vet.
She brought in some puppies
a guinea pig
that the kids fed lettuce to...
a rooster
that really surprised the kids
when he ate out of their hands.
She even brought nine baby opossums!
The opossums had just arrived at the vet
so Miss Carla brought them in to share with us.
The kids loved holding all of the animals.
It was a great visit!
Another great visit came from our Friday reader!
Along with that we celebrated Cinco de Mayo Day
with a missing sombrero game.
Mrs. Martin (the Spanish teacher) also helped us celebrate Cinco de Mayo day.
She taught the kids some songs and read them a fun story.
We picked a beautiful day
to say good-bye
to our butterflies.
We ended our week by watching the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders perform their musical.
They did a GREAT job!
X marks the spot for one fun week!
We will see what happens next week!
