A Winner of a Week!

This was a week worth cheering for!

Mrs. Lohmann led us in another special service.

This time we were celebrating that the tomb was empty!

We danced and sang that Jesus was alive!

It was a GREAT way to start our week!

As we celebrated NEW LIFE, we talked about butterflies.

The children made the different stages of a butterfly using clay.

They even thought to use the sticks as branches for the cocoon.

These boys were so excited about their butterfly made out of sticks.

We even painted some symmetrical butterflies.

Mr. Kuhlmann from Lutheran High led our chapel this week.

He used M&M's to tell the Easter story!

We also used the parachute to tell the Easter story.
First we ran to the tomb.

We made the tomb by trapping air inside the parachute.

Then we went inside the tomb.

It was so exciting to be inside of the parachute!

Finally we pretended to be Peter and John and went into the tomb announcing, "HE IS RISEN INDEED! ALLELUIA!"

A bunch of bugs popped up in our classroom this week

and some "b's"!

These b's didn't sting us!

We swatted them before they could catch us.

Mrs. Helmkamp was back with the Bee-Bots.

This time the Bee-Bots helped us to spell our popcorn words.

We had our own little "Spelling Bee"!  :)

We also had fun adding bugs,

sorting bugs,

and creating our own bugs!

We rounded out the week with Baseball Day!
Baseball Day was a hit!

We played a word baseball game.

Everyone was a winner!

They also had fun pretending to be coaches, evaluating their players stats.

It was quite the number game.

The kindergartners also did an amazing job of building stadiums.

They even figured out how to build stadium seating
and created entrances and exits complete with arches.

It was quite the team effort!
Baseball Day was also exciting because of some fun visitors!
Some 7th graders joined us to
practice some of our skills.

Mr. Marolf also came to help us with batting.

The 7th graders pitched to the kindergartners.
We have quite the group of sluggers in this class!

The kindergartners even had a chance to pitch to the 7th graders.

Throwing and fielding ground balls
also kept us on our toes.

We worked hard on Baseball Day.
But managed to squeeze in some smiles.

Back in the classroom we had a yummy baseball snack.

First the kids had to design a baseball pattern.

Then they could eat their snack.

Sweet success!

We had such a great time

eating
                                                                    and playing ball

                                                                 with our new friends!
It was a great way to end

BASEBALL DAY!

Nothing could measure up to how we ended our Friday...
Our fun Friday reader had the kids laughing with excitement.

It was a MONSTROUSLY wonderful week!
