Easter Joy!

Our days were numbered since it was a short week,

but we pieced together a very exciting week!

We ended our month long study of Dr. Seuss with HAT DAY!

Mrs. Fuhr had some mixed up hats with words on them.

The children rearranged them to make a sentence.

The kids also had fun stacking up "Cat in the Hat" hats.

Some used little "hats".

Some created with little and big "hats".
Dr. Seuss was on the loose when our 3rd grade friends stopped by to help us!

Each team had a set of clues they had to figure out.

The clues helped them open lock boxes.

The teams traveled all over the school.

They stopped by to see Mr. Debrick.

Mrs. Helmkamp helped us out too.
Some mixed up beds appeared in our classroom.

The race was on

to try to put all the clues together.

The last clue helped them unlock one giant box.

The kids had a great time

going on our Dr. Seuss scavenger hunt!

We also headed over to the church basement this week

to visit our Prayer Pals.

We wanted to make sure we wished them a Happy Easter!

We made them some pictures to remind them "He is RISEN".
We also had a few stories to tell them.
They gave us some Easter presents too.

It was so great to see their smiling faces.
We can't wait to see them again soon!
We also ended our March Madness basketball unit

with a visit from Mr. Debrick.

Mr. Debrick helped us work on our shooting skills.

Some kids even made a basket!

We were so thankful for Mr. Debrick's great advice.

Miss Julia also stopped by this week!

She brought her friend, Miss Betty.
They helped us learn about capacity.
The children had to figure out how many Easter eggs the basket and buckets could hold.

They were able to toss the eggs into the bucket.

They filled the bucket to the very top with 30 Easter eggs!

Jelly Bean Day also popped up in our classroom.

We were busying measuring.

and examining

looking for Belly flops!

They also sorted the jelly beans

and of course did a little taste testing

before bagging up their very own jelly beans.

Another part of our jelly bean factory was painting the jelly beans.

The children worked together to paint with jelly beans.

They ended up with some crazy jelly beans!

We have some GREAT jelly bean factory workers!

To end our week we had a very special chapel with the whole school.

Mrs. Lohlmann also led an Early Childhood service to seal up our "tomb".

Each child was able to make a cross on the giant stones.
Those "stones" will then seal up the giant tomb on our playground until after Easter break.

Before we had our Easter egg hunt, wanted to delivered some eggs
to some friendly faces at Zion.
We also wanted to share a very important message with them...
He is risen indeed!

ALLELUIA!

It was a great message even for this Birthday Girl! :)

Finally it was time for our Easter egg hunt!

We went all over the early childhood wing.

We also found some in the Commons

hiding in the plants!

We were so good at finding them

it didn't take us very long to hunt.

But the best surprise were the crosses we found.

What a great way to end our journey to the cross.  ALLELUIA!
