Week of the Young Child

This week was beyond exciting as we celebrated WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD!

We kicked off Musical Monday with some silly socks!

Mr. Maddick, who teaches 4th grade, stopped by to show us how to play the guitar.

The kids LOVED it!

They also practiced making a little music of their own,

as they used musical instruments to spell words.

Mrs. Douglas' preschoolers did an AMAZING job of leading chapel Tuesday.

Since Tuesday was TASTY TUESDAY, we made some "Puddle Cake".

The kids had fun making puddles with the ingredients.

They couldn't wait to see the final result!
We were also busy talking about seeds.

Some kids even designed their own flowers,

others made tasty treats like a giant pizza

and a hot dog!

We couldn't have Tasty Tuesday without thanking our WONDERFUL cooks and their helpers.

They were so surprised and so grateful for the cards and pictures.
We ended the day with one tasty treat...

POPSICLES!

Wednesday was a BEARY good day for us!
We brought our bears to school for some fun adventures!

We made them some beds

and some chairs.

After reading the book Corduroy, the kids also enjoyed sorting buttons for Corduroy.

Going a "bear hunt" was an exciting part of our day!

Each child was given some bears,

and they had to find the caves that matched their bears.

Some of them were a little tricky to find

so they had to use their flashlights.

We have some great bear hunters!

We were all set for ARTSY Thursday!
Mr. Debrick even joined us for some messy fun!

The kids used different "tools"
to paint with.
They were inspired by the artist Jackson Pollock.

Making messes

and MASTERPIECES

sure is fun!

A huge thanks to Mr. Debrick for being brave.  :)

Friday morning was very special.

We headed down to the school office

and led the whole school in prayer!  They did GREAT!

Friday was also exciting as we celebrated Earth Day with a field trip to Towne Park.

Here is a little video to show you how great our day was!

Our WONDERFUL week wasn't  complete until we had our FUN Friday reader!

I wonder what adventures will pop up next week!
