It is good to give thanks to the Lord!

Nothing could measure up
to the great week we had!

Our faces were full of smiles
and our hearts full of music and songs

as we praised God with our memory verses.

The nurses stopped by to see how healthy we are.
Some of us new the helpers quite well!
We were also getting ready for Thanksgiving this week.
Some pennies fell from the sky...
and we had to buy our Thanksgiving meal.
To get ready for our feast, we created Native American head bands.
We made some great patterns!
We also had fun

playing games

similar to what the Native Americans might have played with hoops.
Designing Native American homes was a challenge but we did it!
We even designed some out of clay.
Some third grades from Mrs. Kuhlmann's class came to join us.

They read to us some AMAZING alphabet poems they wrote!

They weren't just great poets; they were great friends too!

Wednesday we headed over to church for a very special thanksgiving chapel.

We had so much canned goods, we could barely carry it all!

As we headed into church,

we placed our "offering" at the front of church.
There was barely enough room for us to fit all of our donations!

Student Council did a GREAT job of leading our chapel.
Back in the classroom we got right to work...

making pumpkin pies!

We added some sugar

and some evaporated milk.

Of course we added eggs!
Some of the ingredients did't smell too good.
But we stirred it up...
and it made quite the pumpkin pie!
Next we wanted to invite some people to our feast.
We wanted to thank some wonderful people at Zion,
so we invited them to our feast!
We were sailing through the week as we talked about the pilgrims.

We also shared the story of David and Goliath.

We cheered for David.
But realized JESUS is our rock and our salvation!  YAY JESUS!

It was finally time
 for our feast.

We headed over to the church basement.

Some friendly helpers came to serve.
Even some terrific moms

showed up to help too!
A few other friends from Zion stopped by for our feast.
They brought hungry tummies

and friendly smiles!

Mr. Debrick joined us too (I think he heard we were having popcorn!)
It was quite the feast!

We are so thankful

for all of the wonderful
people at Zion!
Next up was getting ready for our Thanksgiving Parade.
We made and decorated some fancy instruments.

Then we played for whomever would listen to us!

The cooks even opened their window to hear us play.

We paraded outside

and found Mrs. Bernhardt's class.  They sang a song while we played our instruments!

The parade continued over to church...

where we surprised Mr. Thoelke and Mr. Calvin.
Our parade continued as we attempted to surprise Mrs. Schmidt.

We lined up right outside of her window

and played and sang as loud as we could!

She heard us and gave us a standing ovation!  :)

On our way back, we found some little ones in ELP and played for them.

Mrs. Abilock

and Mrs. Geiger also enjoyed our music.

Our parade wasn't finished until we played for Mr. Debrick!

Our fun Friday reader came

to end our great week of thankfulness!

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.
Psalm 107:1

Here is a video about the special people we are thankful for at Zion...
