Lovely week learning with the letter L!

The learning adventures keep rolling in!
Some spidey fun creeped into our classroom.

Mrs. Helmkamp joined us and brought her bee-bot!

She helped us learn more about the life cycle of a spider.

We were also excellent web readers.
Pastor Rouland and his friend "Gary" led a very special chapel
 about Reformation!
We also finished October by opening up our pumpkins.

It was pretty slimy inside!

The kids each picked out five seeds.

It was pretty slippery!

Some kids liked how it felt.
Others were not so sure!

We also compared the medium-sized pumpkin to our little pumpkin.

Some guessed the seeds would be littler.

Others still didn't like the inside...
and preferred to make their own pumpkins

and pumpkin patches.
The kids also had great fun creating with 500 linking cubes.
They worked together to try to reach all the way across the room!
Building a castle like the one Martin Luther was in also kept them working hard.

At the end of the day we headed back over to church with some third grade friends.

We saw a special play about Martin Luther

and sang and worshiped together.

Wednesday, Mrs. Steinbacher joined us for gym class.

She taught the kids all about stacking cups.

The kids did a great job!

It was also a beautiful day to go for a leaf hunt!

We went all over campus trying to find leaves

and figuring out what trees they came from.

The kids had a great time investigating

and observing the leaves.

They even created people with the leaves!

We ended our day by celebrating with our cross country teams.
The boys won state and took 2nd place at Nationals.  The girls took 2nd at state.

Gooooo BOBCATS!

Our week ended with a special visit from a librarian named Debbie.

After she read us a few books,
we voted for our favorite one.
The children could have listened to her read all day!

Miss Debbie the librarian inspired us to have a "library" of our own.
The children had a great time at the "library".

Our week was not complete until we met at church on Saturday.

It was time to sing and praise God with our voices.

The children did a GREAT job

of leading the congregation with their energy and love for God!

What a lovely week of learning!
