We are ready to CATCH up with you!
We finished up talking about ponds by hopping right into learning about frogs!
The kids had a blast playing leap frog with their "heart words".
We had some very brave "rocks" who patiently waited their turn.
The kids are begging to play this game again! :)

These little frogs were hunting for bugs!
If they caught one, they smacked it and wrote down the word attached to the bug. YUM!
We used these little frogs to help us HOP to our words.
The kids also LOVED letting the frogs "HOP" to letters.
Whatever letter the frog landed on, the kids had to practice writing.
In the afternoon we gave our lungs a workout, as we created these beautiful memory work art masterpieces.
It's not by might; nor by power. But by my spirit...

We were also busy measuring animals that live in ponds. This turtle was 30 linking cubes long!
Our frogs also made another appearance,
as we had a little long jump competition with them (Look carefully... the red frog is jumping in the air!).
Wherever they landed, the kids practiced using a stick to see how far they landed.
Nolan's frog jumped 14 sticks long!
You can COUNT on us to keep the fun coming...
Here comes our Tuesday adventures...
More measuring adventures took us outside to the "nature playground".
The kids were supposed to find two nonliving things to measure and two living things to measure.
The kindergartners were excited to find some of their preschool buddies to measure for their living item!
The kids wanted to stay outside to measure things all day! :)
After reading this sweet book about spreading kindness...
In the classroom the kids were making their own flower gardens.
First they had to pick out a piece for their garden.
Next they had to read the word that was hiding on it and highlight the word on their paper.
Piece by piece they kept adding to their flower garden.
They were SO proud of their flower garden and couldn't wait to show me!
The kids each picked a letter seed.
Then they practiced writing a word that started with that letter in the dirt (a.k.a kinetic sand).
In the afternoon, we were busy examining seeds.
The kids picked up the seeds with a tweezers and dropped them onto their tray.
They had to make a number sentence to show how many seeds they added together.
The kids also enjoyed using the pattern blocks to create flowers.
This dynamic duo even created a whole flower scene complete with a worm!
Our day was full of tiny seeds and big learning—now we wait and watch them grow!
Mrs. Crumrine kicked off our Wednesday with some animal rhythms.
We were ready for more FLOWER POWER back in the classroom.
We were then busy making different words with the flower petals.
In the afternoon the kids were busy at a flower shop.
First they picked out an item to buy.
Then they had to go to the bank to get some money.
They could only get dimes from the bank to pay for their item.
Next they brought it to the cashier who rang up their item.
I love watching this kids use their imagination to play store! :)
After our flower fun was done...
We headed to the church basement for a "Lollipop Concert"!
The strings group from Zion performed a mini concert for us.
We even got to sing BABY SHARK!
We were all smiles for VEGGIE DAY Thursday!
First up... we headed to chapel, which was led by a DCE from Chapel of the Cross.
Some kids helped act out the story of Mary , Peter and John running to the tomb to find it empty.
They even had a relay race to spread the good news to everyone!
We were busy using the giant's foot to measure different beanstalks.
The tallest beanstalk was 14 giant feet tall!
Next up... we headed outside for a Jack in the Beanstalk reading adventure.
The kids LOVED climbing the beanstalk to get a word leaf!
Then they had to spell the word with the magic bean letters.
“FEE FI FO FUM… I smell a reader who’s having some fun!
Climbing up high to words on leaves—growing their reading skills is such a breeze!” 🌿📚
We were also busy putting together mixed vegetables!
The kids got a plate full of mixed up words.
They had to put the words together on their mat to make a sentence.
In the afternoon we had a familiar face stop by! This is Miss Pam. She is one of the cooks at Zion.
They were also busy putting words down the shoot!
Once the word came out, they read it to their teammates.
Then they added the word to their beanstalk.
But she also knows A LOT about plants! She actually works in the floral department at Schnucks.
She came and showed the kids lots of different plants and seeds.
She even left a few fun plants/flowers for us to try to grow!
Our veggie fun continued with painting with vegetables!
The kids made some amazing pictures using veggies for their painting tools!
It did get a little messy...
But the masterpieces were worth the mess!
Everybody was very brave and also tried eating some veggies.
Some friends didn't care for the veggies.
Others couldn't get enough
and wanted seconds!
Thumbs up for a great VEGGIE DAY!
Friday our growing week continued as we talked about farms.
We were busy using rulers to measure some farm animals for math.
They are learning how to carefully line it up.
For reading stations the kids were busy hiding the farmer in the barn.
Look carefully... he is hiding by a "heart word"!
They also enjoyed using the tractor to deliver some letter eggs to the hens.
Once they got all the eggs,
They had to put them in order to make a word.
In the afternoon we kept growing... as the kids were hard at work measuring farm items.
They measured everything from veggies
to farm animals!
The kids were also very excited to plant some real seeds!
They planted a "magic bean" and some marigolds.
We are excited to see which one pops up first AND which one is the tallest!
The kids also worked hard completing their flower pictures.
The flowers were stamped with different water bottles and the grass was made with broccoli!
They even had a chance to paint with asparagus! Who knew it was just like a paint brush!
To end our busy week, we had another FABULOUS FRIDAY READER!
This hilarious book had the kids giggling with excitement!
Once again, it was a great way to complete our week.
We will see if next week can MEASURE up to this week!
