We were jumping right back into the excitement!
Mrs. Jennings kept the kids working hard with some frisbee tossing.
For math we had fun delivering some gold to the pots at the end of the rainbow.
We were learning how to take a whole and break it into two parts.
we set out looking for some rainbows of our own.
We were looking for READING rainbows!
In this reading game, the kids had to read the colorful heart word sticks and line them up.
The kids also enjoyed painting a rainbow of their own.
The tricky part was they only had three colors to work with.
They had to mix the three colors
to make all the colors of the rainbow.

In the afternoon we were making rainbow with milk!
The kids tapped the spot of food coloring with a drop of soap
and were surprised to see what happened!
It was a beautiful experiment.
Next up the kids were busy adding colorful dominoes.
Don't go yet! We are just getting started!
Tuesday we were all set to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with GREEN DAY!
Then it was time to catch some green eggs on our giant plate!
Before tossing the egg, we rolled the dice to see how many eggs we would get to toss.
Then the toss took aim and tried to get as many eggs as they could into the plate.
The catchers worked hard to catch as many eggs as they could.
Then we created a "number bond" showing how many eggs went in and how many went out.
Finally it was time to try some green eggs and ham.
Some kids were not so excited about it!
Some didn't think they smelled very good! :)
The kids took a little yellow and a little blue and discovered...
They made GREEN!
Next they created their own shade of green
to create a shamrock of their very own.
Maisie's grandma showed up and read a WONDERFUL book about mermaids! The kids LOVED looking for the mermaid hiding in the book!
It was a great way to end our day.
We LOVED Green Day!
Wednesday, Mrs. Talley was back to teach music class.
She gave the kids drumsticks to help them practice their rhythm.
We also had a very exciting chapel that was led by student council!
They acted out the story of the paralyzed man.
Back in the classroom we were all set to build some houses!
Then we got started building words.
The customer delivered their order.
They gathered the blocks they needed.
Delivering the blocks to the builder came next.
The builder had to put the word together.
The inspector gave the final approval!
At another reading station we were busy delivering some mail.
One teammate had to sit and wait at the house for mail.
Another teammate was busy picking out letters to mail.
Once the letters were delivered,
the teammate had to put the letters in the right order to make a word.
YAY! You've got mail!
Mrs. Donner also stopped by to help the kids "fly" to their houses.
The kids were SOOO excited to show everyone where they live!
Our young architects continued their building excitement as we headed into the afternoon.
Mrs. Helmkamp stopped by to help us with our building project.
It took a lot of work to build our dream houses,
but the kids were excited to use some new tools.
We borrowed a really amazing "chomp saw" from preschool to cut up some cardboard.
We may have some future designers in the class.
The kids made some very unique creations
and were so excited to share their creations with their friends!
The kids also worked together to make some houses out our wooden planks.
It was a great day for building and creating!
More building projects popped up as we made our way to Thursday...
We started off Thursday talking about the fairytale The Three Little Pigs.
For math, we were busy trying to build houses out of different materials.
Once the house was built, the big bad wolf tried to blow it down.
We had to add how many parts fell and how many stayed put.
Then the kids had a chance to work as a team to create a house that would stand strong.
First the kids picked a card.
Then they set to work looking for building materials with letters.
Then they brought it back to their friend
More piggies showed up at the next reading station.
The kids looked in the house for a little piggie.
Then they read the word on the bottom of the pig.
After reading a couple different versions of the 3 Little Pigs the kids had a blast designing their houses.
I loved watching their creative ideas pop up!
This house even has a wind mill!
Then we had a few big bad wolves go around and try to blow their houses down.
The kids also enjoyed adding pigs and trying to fit them all in their "pen".
To finish off our day we had another GREAT birthday reader!
Wyatt's dad read us a wonderful story about an owl who wanted to be a knight owl.
The kids loved ending our day with our birthday reader!
Friday it was time to have some more fun with frisbees.
This inspired us to get out some nets and try to catch some fish!
The kids each took a turn catching some sea creatures in their net.
We created a number bond to show how many were in the net and how many were out.
The kids absolutely LOVED this game!
Next up it was time to practice adding with goldfish!
After lining up 10 fish,
The kids created lots of different ways to make 10.
Then of course they got to eat the fish!
Then we had to look for the sea creatures that escaped in our classroom.
In the afternoon we enjoyed fishing for numbers.
The kids then had to add the two fish together.
We are o"FISH"ally great at adding!
We ended our busy week with a special Friday BIRTHDAY reader!
Mac's mom and dad showed up with an incredible book that kept the kids on the edge of their seats!
What a way to end our busy week.
Two thumbs up for one amazing week of adventures!
