Hands down...We had SNOW much fun this week!
Even without snow!
We warmed up our Monday with Mrs. Jennings and gym class!
They played a fun game called "Pirate Treasure"!
They had to try to steal the treasure without getting caught!
Certain items were the special treasures!
After reading this hilarious book about Splat trying to create his own snow, we decided to create a few snowy adventures of our own this week...
Back in the classroom some snowy friends arrived for math.
The kids took turns going to the HIGH FIVE store.
They could only buy a total of five items. "No more. No less. Because 5 is the BEST!"
We have some SUPER shoppers in this group!
We also have some super readers!
In this snowball game, the kids were practicing writing their letters.
They also had fun using the magnetic wands to make some snowman rhymes.
One friend grabbed the bottom of the snowman.
Another friend used the magnetic wand to pick up the rhyming top.
The third friend was the inspector making sure it was a good rhyming snowman!
The kids also had fun pretending shaving cream was snow!
Mrs. Collins called out a letter sound, and they had to write that letter in the "snow"!
Their bonus challenge was to practice writing words.
The kids had a BLAST with this activity!
In the afternoon we read this wonderful book by our illustrator of the month... Jan Brett! Ask your child why it is called The Snowy Nap?
We continued our snow adventures by creating our own snowflakes.
The kids worked hard to cut and create these masterpieces.
No two snowflakes are the same... so true!
We also had fun measuring our snowfriends!
This snowball was only 3 cubes tall!
This snowfriend was 37 cubes tall!
Our fun week was just getting started...
Tuesday we started off with our day with some building and creating.
These girls created a lovely kindergarten playground!
For math class we were picking out some winter gear.
This time it had to match our number sentence.
Then we added it to our five frame to make sure it was a match.
The kids loved kicking off our reading time with this familiar story.
Then it was time to create our own snowman.
First they took turns picking an item out from the bucket.
Each item had a word on it that they had to read.
Then they had to highlight that word on their paper.
Together they made some very unique snowmen!
In the afternoon they were busy making their story about snowmen at night.
These snowmen went to a disco party!
The kids also enjoyed playing a snowman card game.
And they practiced adding mini snowballs!
After adding the snowballs, they created a picture with the mini snowballs.
Wednesday rolled around, and we were back for more smiles, learning, and fun!
Mrs. Crumine was already for another great music class.
She had us singing and dancing!
The kids had a great time!
The kids LOVED this hilarious book that got us in the mood for more snowy adventures...
For reading stations, we were busy making letters using our geoboards.
We were also busy building heart word snow forts.
After reading the heart word,
they stacked up the cups to build a fort.
Of course we had to go in the hallway for a snowball fight!
They read the word on the snowball.
Then balled it up...
And THREW it at the other team!
They could have played this all day!
We were also busy using snowball letters to make snow forts.
In the afternoon, Ms. Steinbacher was back to help us with our memory verse.
They created a memory verse puzzle and made a door hanger to put on their door knobs at home.
We also worked on our memory verse art.
They were excited to use LEGOS to paint with!
The kids also did a great job of using pattern blocks to create snowflake patterns.
Another snowy day in the books!
Thursday our creative minds were back at it!
We started off our day with RUPERT and Pastor Rouland leading our chapel service.
Thank you for your generosity! Our offerings this month are going to support the Global Kids Fund from Lutheran Hour Ministries.
During math, we were busy building another snowman!
We had to spin the spinner twice and add up the numbers.
The next friend went and found that many items from the bucket.
Then they added it to the snowman.
Look at our silly snowman that is sledding and has snowballs on his head!
For our reading stations the kids were busy making snow fort sentences.
In the afternoon, we read this fun book by Lois Ehlert. She used lots of "good stuff" to create snow creatures.
Then the kids got started creating their puffy snowman.
They used shaving cream and glue!
They also worked with partners to create loose parts creatures.
They used the spinner to see how many pieces they needed to add.

The kids LOVE this game!
For math we were busy tossing snowballs.
We practiced adding the ones that went in
and the ones that landed out.
The best part was cheering each other on!
We were ready for more snowy fun during our reading stations.
We first started with another fun "How to Catch..." book, which inspired us to create our own traps!
The kids worked together to create their snowman traps.
They had to write down the words that were hiding on their building materials.
I love their creative ideas!
We had a surprise snowy treat in the afternoon!
We crushed up some ice and added a few sprinkles...
The kids LOVED it!
We even watched THE SNOWMAN movie while we ate it. I was told, 'THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!" :)
We finished the day with our final snowy adventures.
The kids worked hard to create mini snow friends.
This is a "snow minion".
Here is a snow fox.
This one has a noodle for a bow!
And these little guys are going for a sled ride!
SO many memories were built this week.
And SNOW many smiles filled our week too!
Kindergartners are like snowflakes...
Individually unique, but when we stick together we can do amazing things!
