What a week of EGGciting adventures!
Delivering eggs helped us practice our teen numbers.
We counted on from 10 to discover how many eggs were delivered.
The next friend looked for the teen number that matched.
These eggs had some letters hidden in them.
The kids had to put the letters together to make a word.
Then we played a game called switch. The kids had to keep switching the letters until they got a real word.
This little guy was so proud of himself for making the word God! :)
Time for our Masked Reader!
Can you guess who this is???
They are not a teacher.
They work at Zion.
Their favorite food is not mac and cheese.
They work at the church.
The kids were stumped!
It was Mrs. Adams. Our wonderful church secretary!
She read us a hilarious story...
The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
We just love our Masked Readers!
In the afternoon we were busy working on our adding and balancing.
First they rolled the dice twice. Then they added it together to see how many eggs to balance.
It's not a CARROT TOP, we were busy playing matching game!
The bunny had to find it's rhyming carrot.
They loved finding their partner!
These little bunnies were hiding under the eggs.
They had to guess which word they thought the bunny was hiding under.
These kids were busy delivering peeps!
The kids brought a peep letter back to their friends,
so they could practice writing the letter.
Celebrating the journey to the cross with your children has been such a joy!
We headed over to church to have our very own "Living Last Supper".
They started off "washing" each others hands.
Then they passed around the bread and said, "Take eat and remember me".
This was to remind us of Jesus body.
Then it was time for the "wine".
"Take and drink and remember me."
This was to remind us of Jesus' blood.
Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray, so we took time to pray too.
It was a very special moment in our day to take time to talk to God.
We finished our day "painting" our Easter eggs with shaving cream.
We picked up the paper and discovered lots of swirly shaving cream.
Once we scraped off all of the shaving cream...
We couldn't believe the beautiful egg we discovered!
Wednesday was a VERY busy day as we celebrated the Cardinals...
AND it was Jelly Bean Day!
First we headed to gym class for our own March Madness!
Mr. Debrick showed up to help us with our shooting!
Hooray for March Madness!
Time for some jelly bean fun!
If I called our their jelly bean sight word, they grabbed it and "ate" it!
Reading can be so YUMMY!
we headed outside to deliver some mail of our own.
Our grandparents and special friends should be receiving a very special card in the mail.
Each child put their envelope in the school's mailbox
Then it was time to close it up and put up the flag.
Our jelly bean factory was officially open in the afternoon.
It was quite the factory!
They took two jelly beans and some paint and started shaking!
It took quite the team work to get that jelly bean to move.
They were also busy using jelly beans to measure.
Of course we had to practice sorting jelly beans
Each kid picked out 10 jelly beans for their bag.
Of course they had to sample one!
The kids also enjoyed inspecting jelly beans.
They were looking for "belly flops".
Then they wrote down what they found wrong with the jelly bean.
It was a fantastic day for a jelly bean factory!
Teamwork makes the dreamwork!
Thursday we started our day with a very special chapel service.
We headed outside for a Good Friday chapel service.
Ms. Steinbacher led us through different stations of the the cross.
We ended up at the tomb.
She read us the Easter story because we know the story doesn't end at the crosss.
Back in the classroom we were busy matching these bunnies up to the right carrots.
These eggs needed to be matched up to the right pawprints.
We were also busy hopping to play our math game.
They had to hop to the number in their lane.
Sometimes I asked for the high number. Sometimes I asked for the low number.
In the afternoon we were ready to finish they day with our final adventures.
The kids were busy hiding eggs of their own inside of houses
and other amazing creations.
Finally it was time for our resurrection party Easter egg hunt!
Each group took a turn outside looking for eggs.
They were some very special eggs that have a seed to plant.
The best part was finding the cross hiding inside the "tomb".
We hope that you always remember the amazing love that Jesus has for you.
Not just on Easter, but every day!
He is RISEN indeed!
