We worked hard to get everything to fit into our week!
We were busy adding lightning and raindrops during math as we created a stormy "number bond".
Some clouds showed up in our room! We made CLOUD DOUGH!
The kids used the cloud dough to practice spelling words.
One student said the cloud dough was so "satisfying to touch"!

We also had fun pretending these were giant clouds
as we spelled out words.
The kids loved watching the letters fly through the air!
More cloudy fun popped up in the afternoon.
One friend pulled out a raindrop ten frame card.
One friend fed the cloud some white raindrops.
The next friend had to figure out how many more raindrops were needed to match the card.
The kids also had a great time making their own clouds!
We used shaving cream and glue to created some puffy designs.
After we folded it over we figured out what our cloud looked like!
"My cloud looks like a clown!"
Our week continued with some more fun adventures.
In math we were creating our own songs.
I told them how many notes were in the song. They chose how many green "notes" and how many yellow "notes" to equal that number.
Then one friend played for the green notes and one friend played for the yellow notes. Beautiful music!
This hilarious book was filled with fun "noises"! It inspired us to create some NO NOISE, activities...
The kids had a huge challenge of playing NO NOISE Bingo.
If they filled up their card, they gave a silent cheer!
They did a GREAT job with this challenge.
We used the POP-ITS to stretch out each sound in a word.
Once they popped it, they got busy spelling it.
He just kept singing his "NOISE ALL DAY".
We were back to work with some more NO NOISE adventures as we practiced our adding and subtracting.
We rolled little playdoh balls to help with our adding.
The kids had fun SMASHING the balls when it was time to subtract!
The kids LOVED practicing their adding and subtracting this way.
The beautiful day aloud us to go for a NOISY walk.
The kids stopped to listen to all the different sounds they heard.
Then they drew a picture of the sound they heard and tried to spell out the sound.
EEK! TWEET! HISSSS!
Our basketball unit continued with some dribbling practice.
They dribbled ten times with a partner, then took a lap around the gym.
Then we had the challenge of dribbling from one side of the gym to the next.
Once they gave the ball to their partner
they had to run back to their spot as quickly as they could.
Mrs. Crumrine had a great time teaching the kids an Irish song.
It was a growing pattern as the song kept adding more and more characters.
By the end the kids were DANCING along!
The Napping House popped up in our classroom.
We weren't busy taking naps!
We were working together to make our own napping houses.
These houses had words on them. The kids took turns reading the word and then adding it to the house.
Look carefully and you will find a bed hiding in this house!
We were also busy learning about rainbows!
The kids had some much using the dominoes to make rainbows.
Everyone had to remain very calm and steady
so the dominoes didn't fall over too soon!
They were also up for the challenge of painting their own rainbow.
They only had the primary colors to work with... red, yellow, and blue!
The crazy weather couldn't stop this boy's birthday reader from coming in!
Carson's dad came to read a HILARIOUS book about monster! The kids LOVED it!
It was such a great way to take our minds off the crazy weather that kicked off our day!
Our student council led our chapel this week!

Some little leprechauns showed to help us with our math.
These sneaky leprechauns delivered some of their gold to kids.
When they opened their eyes, we had to guess how many coins were left in the pot.
4 coins + _____ coins in the pot = 6 coins
We read another fantastic Dr. Seuss book to kick off our reading activities.
These leprechauns were delivering word rainbow sticks to friends' pots.
The friend had to the sight word on their paper and highlight it in gold.
Our gold coins helped us stretch out the sounds in words.
For every sound we heard, we slid a coin into the box.
Mrs. Donner came to help us with a MANY COLORED science experiment.
First the kids poured milk onto a plate.
Next they added some food coloring.
Then they took a q-tip and dipped it into dish soap.
When they touched the q-tip to the milk do you know what happed?
The colors began to dance and swirl!
The kid couldn't believe how beautiful it was!
We weren't quite done with our week...
We finished our week with....
GREEN DAY!
After reading Green Eggs and Ham, we were ready for some exciting math!
We were busy tossing eggs onto our giant plate.
The kids were busy cheering for their friends.
Another friend tried to catch the eggs and ham on the plate.
It was such a fun way to practicing our adding!
Some leprechauns' lost their hats.
They were looking for the right words to fill up their hats.
If it didn't belong to them, they gave it to their friend.
They were so excited for their friends to win!
SAM-I-AM handed out some bowls.
Then SAM-I-AM grabbed some eggs and delivered them.
Once the egg was found
they opened it up and found a word or a letter hiding in it.
Another round of NO NOISE Bingo Leprechaun style!
A very interesting visitor arrived in the afternoon!
Miss Julia showed up to invite the kids to the "Big Cooking Show".
The kids had a blast mixing yellow and blue water to make green.
We can't wait to see Miss Julia again!
Snack time was soooo yummy!
The kids chose which "green " colored foods they wanted.
Some kids tried some new foods that were green
and couldn't get enough of it!
The kids were also working together to put together a Green Eggs and Ham puzzle.
After reading this book,
we made a little mess of yellow and blue too!
When we mixed it together we made some GREEN!
We ended our busy week, with another fabulous story from our fabulous Friday reader!
She read about the littlest leprechaun
and had all the kids grinning from ear to ear.
Green, green, green... it's the best color I've ever seen!
As great as this week was,
my favorite part was watching this group of friends praying outside at recess. What an amazing group of children I get to work with every day! Thank you for sharing your children with me. :)
