Here is a peek into some of our adventures of the last week of school...
We were wheeling our way through the week
as we prepared to GO
and enjoy the summer.
We told stories with transportation flannel board pieces.
We measured cars.
A few kids even shared a little bit more about their WHEELS PROJECT.
A few more talented visitors stopped by...
Mrs. Sue Bredow is a wonderful artist.
She has painted, sketched, and drawn a variety of masterpieces.
She has even done some beautiful murals in our church and school!
The kids did an AMAZING job of listening and asking questions.
She LOVED meeting all of them
and gave them each a card that she designed.
Another talented visitor who talked with us was Mr. Thoelke.
He gave us a "tour" of the organ.
And even gave us a little personal concert! He showed them how loud the organ can get!
The kids had a GREAT time!
We also visited some special people.
We went to see our Prayer Pals for the last time!
What a special group of people they are.
It was such a joy
to watch the friendships grow throughout the months together.
What a blessing these special Prayer Pals have been to us.
The coldest day of the week couldn't stop our icy fun!
Thank you PTL for this yummy treat!
Each kid was able to get a snow cone!
They created quite the combo of flavors.
WE LOVE SWEET TREATS!
Every year I read this book to my kindergartners. If you have never read it, I highly encourage you to read it with your child. It has some amazing words of advice for kids of all ages (and grown ups too!). It reminds us that God made us just the way we are, and He doesn't make mistakes. YOU ARE SPECIAL!
After reading the story, we shared a few of our own talents.
We had some dancers.
A ukulele player showed up too! She did a beautiful version of "Jesus Loves Me".
One little boy was very proud of his catching skills.
We had an impressive magician show up!
The kids were completely baffled how the trick worked!
One little girl showed us a "clap dance" she made up all by herself.
A couple of children showed us their piano skills.
We also headed to the gym for jumping talents!
This little girl showed us her basketball skills.
This little guy loves hockey and showed us all of his equipment
and even scored a goal!
One little girl sang and danced for us. It was a song she had made up all by herself!
We had one final talent... a headstand!
It was so fun to watch all of the different skills and talents.
Our SUPER week was not done yet...
We flew right into more adventures
as we celebrated one SUPER year of learning adventures!
These SUPER readers were practicing their skills.
They looked for their popcorn words to POP out!
They tossed the bean bags to the right popcorn word.
They had a fun time being SUPER readers!
The SUPER readers continued as the fun bubbled over!
Popcorn words were "flying" through the air.
As the kids spelled each popcorn word,
they flew to pop the bubbles for each letter.
Great job SUPER readers!
The visitors continued to stop by as Miss Julia brought a fun friend with her!
Miss Betty came to help Miss Julia talk about sharing.
The kids helped at the BIG COOKING SHOW by helping divide food in half.
They divided all kinds of shapes.
The kids also learned that "SHARING IS CARING".
Mrs. Reed was disappointed she didn't get to be a part of the fun, but was glad she finally got to meet Miss Julia. ;)
One more visitor came to show us his talents.
Mr. Buerhle used to be a professional baseball player.
He showed us some of his jerseys, gloves, etc.
He also helped us with our batting skills.
The kids LOVED hanging out with this fun guy!
We finished our SUPER day by popping popcorn.
We waited patiently to see where the popcorn would land.
The kids were so excited when it landed on the popcorn words!
For our last day of school we watched this video we had made at the beginning of the year.
It was so fun to see how the kids have grown and changed!
After watching the video we read Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the Last Day of Kindergarten.
The kids also had fun shopping at our "penny store".
They are super shoppers!
Writing in their new special journals also made the kids smile.
One boy even lost a tooth on the last day of school!
We finished our last day together by going on a treasure hunt.
The treasure hunt was filled with clues
that led us all over our classroom.
The final clue said "Look on the rug". The kids discovered they were the real treasure. :)
They truly have been a treasure to me this year!
Here is a video I put together with some of our favorite memory verses.
Here is the video from closing chapel.
HAVE A WONDERFUL SUMMER!
Jesus loves you and so do I!
