Thy word is lamp unto my feet and light unto my path. As we begin this new year filled with questions and excitement, anxieties and joy, God is right there to light our path. He shines His flashlight, showing us just what we need to make it through the good times and the bad. He never gives us too much or too little light. His light directs, protects, comforts, and guides us. May this light fill you with hope and joy this school year.
We rolled right into a short week of fun adventures.
There were so many new things to learn!
We learned how to use the SMARTboard to share what we wanted for lunch.
We also had a lot of fun counting how many days we have been in school!
The first day of school we also headed over to church to take a big school wide picture.
These "business managers" were hard at work already raising money for a new playground! :)
We were also very determined to be SUPER readers!
Partners headed around the room looking for their SUPER letter.
We "flew" all around the room.
Reading books was another way we learned to be SUPER readers! One of the first books we read was Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten. If you haven't sent a picture of how your child gets ready for kindergarten, please do that by next week. THANKS!
Lunch was also one of our favorite things to do! We had a lot of VERY hungry kindergartners the first day of school!
We also did a lot of painting this week.
We even painted our hands
to make our very own "Kissing Hand".
The book the Kissing Hand also helped us with some fun alphabet games.
The kids did a great job of finding the missing letters.
The kids also enjoyed building
and creating this week.
They even had fun creating with wooden sticks.
They have quite the imaginations.
They were so proud of their teamwork!
We also worked together this week to use a new math tool.
The kids figured out ways to use to our teddy bear counters.
These boys invented a game to play with the bears!
We also discovered we could sort the bears. They wanted to see if they could get them to line up all the way around the table!
We had more alphabet adventures
as we read the book CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM!
The kids tried to balance the alphabet on their own trees.
It was interesting to see the different tree designs
and how they got the letters to balance.
It was quite the challenge!
Some even tried to blow their trees down
but they stood strong!
The Chicka Chicka fun continued as we painted our arms and hands to create a tree.
We even worked together to paint a tree for our classroom. We just need some coconuts to finish it off! Each child cut out their own coconut that they get to decorate at home. Check out your child's Friday folder for more details!
It was a SUPER week full of smiles
and new friends.
Our learning adventures continue next week with more alphabet fun
and learning about our great creation.
Can't wait to see what pops up next week!
BY GOD ALL THINGS WERE CREATED.
