We had some very wise children appear this week...
and we were jumping for joy to be back!
We were busy talking about stars this week.
We were working on putting these stars together to make words.
If we spelled the word right,
the "sky" lit up!
Stars were also falling from the sky
as we practiced adding stars.
We also worked on writing our letters in salt this week.
Mrs. McBroom called out a letter sound,
and they had to figure out which letter to write.
After talking about constellations,
the kids used star cereal to create their own constellations.
Here is a heart.
This constellation is a person.
Can you guess what this one is??? It is a vacuum cleaner!
These kids have great imaginations!
After viewing the Starry Night painting,
we got to work making our own masterpieces.
The kids did a great job!
It was cold outside but our silly socks brought some warm, silly smiles!
Pastor Rouland led us on a star search for chapel.
Every star had a special message for us to read.
We found stars all over the church.
The final star led us to the cross, which is the reason God sent His son.
Back in the classroom we were having some fun with socks!
We worked together to make some unique sock creations.
The is a manger scene! Do you see the stable?!
Who knew silly socks would be so fun to create with.
We also had our very own sock hop!
Friends wrote down the letters.
Then the sock hopper had to jump in that order to make it to the other side.
Our silly sock adventures continued in the afternoon.
Then we were busy measuring some socks.
We socked it to that cold, wintery day!
We finished our week by going on a star search.
These wise boys and girls stopped to ask anyone they could find if they had seen the Baby King.
We kept following the stars all over the school.
We found Mrs. Rouland's preschoolers, but they hadn't seen Him.
Sooo... we kept looking for the stars.
We thought maybe the Baby King was hungry, but the cooks hadn't seen Him either.
So we kept following the stars.
The stars had numbers on them,
so that kept us on the right track.
The stars led us right to the office.
We asked Mr. Debrick if he had seen our Baby King.
He hadn't seen the Baby.
So on we went!
The stars led us outside on a cold journey.
The stars led us right to the church.
We found more stars,
but we didn't find the Baby King.
Outside we went again!
We couldn't find the Baby King, but the kids didn't want to give up!
When we got back to our building we found another star!
There was one right above our door!
The kids couldn't find Baby Jesus in our classroom.
We did find a treasure box that had a special star in it reminding us that Jesus will always be with us.
More starry adventures popped up during reading time.
We went searching for stars that had words on them.
The kids wrote down all the words they could find.
They have become great astronomers
and great readers too!
Children of God... you will shine among them like stars in the sky.
