Back Together Again

It was great to be back together again!

We were busy this week getting ready for Christmas.

The kids each got to make their own dough ornaments.

Every ornament was very unique.

After baking the ornaments, the children painted their ornaments

They were given a plate with the primary colors on it so they could create their own colors.

Then they hung the ornaments on our tree.

We also worked on balancing things this week.

They took things from their pencil box

to see what was the heaviest and lightest thing.

Some even weighed the same!
We also worked more with patterns this week.

After creating some wonderful patterns

The kids had fun creating their own designs and pictures.  This is a snowman!
We took our pattern making skills to the next level

as we began making  paper chains.

We will start hanging them in our room next week!

We did get outside this week
 to enjoy the wonderful sunshine!

Despite it being a little chilly

the sunshine kept us warm

and the kids didn't even notice how cold it was!

Some sneaky elves also arrived this week.

The elves were hiding behind the numbers
and the kids had to figure out where the elves were.
Bee-bot was back this week!

He was dressed as an elf!
The kids programmed him to pick up the candy canes

and deliver them to Santa Claus!
An elf dance game had the kids reading letters

but if they got an elf card they had to dance!

Check out these dance moves!

We even had some ballerinas!

A little bit of hip hop...

and some dances they invented!

We have quite the dancers in our class!

After reading the book How to Catch an Elf
the kids set to work making their own elf traps

Some even made elf houses

Look at these little beds hiding inside the box!
The kids had to go to the "elf store" to buy items
to turn into the houses and traps.
They worked so hard to make some wonderful creations!
The kids also had fun making shelves

for the elves

They were fancy shelves!

We were also busy getting ready for our Advent feast.

The kids worked together
to make a very yummy pumpkin pie!
Finally it was time for our feast!
We had some delicious turkey, popcorn, fruit, carrots...
and of course PUMPKIN PIE!

The kids had SO much fun at the feast!

It was filled with smiles and laughter!

It was a great way to end our week!

We just can't wait to see what exciting things pop up next week!
