One Terrific Week!

Another bright sunny week of fun and friendship!

We actually started our week off in the church!

The kids met up in the music room to  warm up their voices.

The kids did an AMAZING job of leading worship

with their beautiful voices.

They love to sing with all of their heart.  :)

Some turkeys showed up in our classroom this week.
This group of turkeys didn't have any feathers so we hunted for the right ones

that belonged to them.

Once we were sure we had a match we wrote down which turkeys we "caught".

We also had a "Tricky T" store in our classroom this week.

I gave the customers some money to spend on something that started with T.
Before they could buy their item they had to "toss" the item to their partner.
If they caught it, they could share it.
We also had a "banker" who recorded how much we spent.

We LOVE this game!

Tuesday was a T-rrific day for a T PARTY!

Dressed in our favorite t-shirts

we played a tiny shirt game.

We also had a t-shirt store in our classroom.

The kids had to find the right t-shirt that matched their word.

Then they wrote down how much it cost.

We do love a good bargain!

Our week was also terrific because we visited our Prayer Pals.

These special friends were excited to see us!

Some of us met some new faces.

We couldn't wait to share some fun stories with them

and share our pictures.
There sure was a lot of laughing

and smiling going on!

We have made some incredible friendships already!
We already are excited

to go back and see our Prayer Pals again.
We definitely are thankful to have these special people in our lives.

For our  T Party we brought in some things that started with T.

We had quite a few turtles.

Some special treats like taffy and TEA.

We also had a bunch of teddy bears show up too!

We played a few games at our T party like tic-tac-toe

and TWISTER with a twist!

The kids had to touch a word not just a color. WOW!  Are they competitive!

They also enjoyed some toast at their T party.

Before they could eat it,

they had to tear into the shape of the letter T.

We had a great time at our T party!

We can't wait for our next party!

Wednesday was a day to be thankful.

As we headed over to church,
we could hardly carry all of the wonderful food donations everyone brought in.
We looked like we were starting a new exercise program!

The front of church was completely full of food for the seminarians.  What a blessing!

We also were led by a Student Council in an exciting chapel  service.

They did a great job of reminding us to be thankful (and had us laughing like crazy!).

More turkey fun popped up in our classroom.

After reading the book How to Catch a Turkey, the kids designed their own turkey traps.
Mrs. Helmkamp was back to help us with this special STEM project.

Some kids even had "food" for the turkey and made it into more of a house.
Others had quite the contraptions to catch the turkeys!

We also put on some special turkey glasses

to go searching for turkeys.

We even practiced our turkey calls!

Once we caught all of the turkeys

we sorted them by what letter they started with.

This week we also talked about David and how he didn't need a sword or armor to defeat Goliath.

We did a special cheer for David.

Then we realized it was GOD that defeated Goliath not David.
We also learned that David was a great musician sooo...
we were also busy making instruments.

We decorated them with all kinds of fun stuff

the result was music to our ears! We can't wait to use them for our parade.

Learning about musical instruments helped us appreciate the story of "Peter and the Wolf".

We listened to the story told through music, and we made illustrations to go with it.
The children did a great job of focusing on the music

and drawing what they heard.

They LOVED listening to the music and really got into the story.

This week was a very busy week, so some even wanted to pretend to be on vacation on already!

However, we had a few more things to get done.

The kids stamped out a pattern on their headband  for next week.

Some even copied that pattern using pattern blocks.

The kids also had fun painting with feathers.

They used the feathers to create a design

on their memory verse for the week.

We also talked about what Wampanoag homes might have looked like.

They were challenged to make a home just using sticks.

Our week ended with a very special reader.
"Grammy" came to read to us a beautiful book that had the kids sitting quietly in amazement.

We continue to be amazed by ALL of the blessings God pours out on us daily.

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.
