We were ready to deliver another fantastic week of fun and learning!
We headed out to Zion's mailbox
to deliver some very special invitations
to our grandparents.
We hopped right into the letter K by learning about kangaroos.
We also pretended to be kangaroos
as we hopped to different letters of the alphabet.
To prepare for the season of Lent...
Pastor Reitz stopped by to talk to us about Ash Wednesday.
Another visitor stopped by to help us finish out Fit February.
Mrs. Trampe talked to us about nutrition.
The kids were AMAZED at how much sugar is in soda!
We decided water is better for us. :)
The kids learned a lot and had a few things to tell her too!
We loved Mrs. Trampe
and were excited to make healthier choices.
We even started looking at food boxes.
The kids wrote down all the words they could find on the boxes.
They also designed healthy foods to eat. This is a carrot!
Mr. Hanson did a great job of leading a very special chapel on Wednesday.
He talked about how we are as dirty as a dust rag, but Jesus died so we would be clean.
We were also reminded of this through the marking of ashes on our foreheads or our hands.
Dr. Seuss was on the loose Friday!
We traveled to Lutheran High
to celebrate Read Across America (Dr. Seuss' birthday).
The high schoolers read to us
a bunch of Dr. Seuss books.
They did a great job!
They are GREAT readers!
We listened
and read to them too!
The kids also had a great time running a lap for every book they read.
The big kids had fun racing them too!
Most of the time the kindergartners won!
As we read across America...
we put together a map of America.
For every book they read, the kids put together a puzzle piece.
Mrs. Taylor did a GREAT job of helping out!
Mr. Ernstmeyer from Lutheran High read the final book and put the last piece in.
The kids had a GREAT time and met some fun new friends too!
We took one final lap...
before heading back to Zion.
It was quite the sensational Seussical Day!
Be kind to one another.
