March Madness!

Take a peek at what we were up to this week!

March definitely felt like a lion this week!

Even the snow couldn't stop our fun adventures with NOISE on  Monday.

Two NOISY visitors from Iowa came to visit... MY PARENTS!

They loved playing games with the kids like no noise name bingo!

My mom also did a noisy experiment with them.

After filling up the the different jars

the children tapped

and listened to the different noises the jars made.
Beautiful music!

My dad is quite the card shark.

He enjoyed playing a noisy version of "I'm Bigger!"

It wasn't always easy to win this game!
Meanwhile, my group traveled the hallways in search of different noises.

We heard the 2nd graders tip toeing  through the hall.

Mrs. Lail's class was also filled with fun busy sounds.

Next we even listened in at the gym to hear what they were up to.

The water running outside of Mrs. Stanglein's classroom was a very surprising sound!

Back in the classroom newspaper numbers also made the list of noisy activities,
as we copied the artist Jasper John and created our own masterpieces.
Our noisy day would not have been complete

without my mom teaching the kids a fun song about numbers.
My parents had a GREAT time meeting these GREAT kids!

They left them with lots of hugs
and smiles too (my dad is a big John Deere fan!).

Tuesday we caught more fun as we practiced spelling our popcorn words.

OODLES OF NOODLES also popped up!

The kids loved making messy paintings with them.

Sorting the noodles

and balancing them was also a part of our day.

Next up was nursery rhymes.  The dish ran away with the rhyming spoon at this station!

It was raining word families here.  "Rain, rain go away come again another day"!

Jack

and Jill went up the hill to fetch a vowel
as they tried to make words with Mrs. Robbins.

Trying to get Humpty Dumpty to stay on the wall

was pretty tricky!
First they had to build the wall.

Then they had to put the egg on the wall.
They had to find the perfect spot for the egg to sit.
It was quite the balancing act!

They even made a pipe so the spider could go up the water spout!
Who knew nursery rhymes could be so exciting!

A rainbow of fun got us ready for St. Patrick's day.

The kids practiced mixing primary colors

to create quite the rainbow masterpieces!

Friday another fun day arrived...

It was GREEN DAY!
Of course we had to have green eggs and ham!

Most kids  gave it two thumbs up!

We kept a tally of who liked it in our room. "YES" was the winner for eggs AND the ham!

After reading Little Yellow and Little Blue by Leo Lionni,

we made our own little yellow and little blue.  The result... GREEN!
We also went searching for the leprechaun's pot of gold.
It was quite the treasure hunt!
OOBLECK also showed up.
Some of the kids weren't so sure about that!
It was quite the week!

We look forward to more great adventures after Spring Break!

Her favorite food is buttered noodles.
She would like to have a bunny rabbit for a pet.
If she could have a superpower, it would be camouflage.
She loves rainbows and unicorns.
She loves Jesus.
Her favorite Bible verse is: I will sing; I will make music to the Lord. Judge 5:3
She is glad that Jesus died for us.
