We have so many things to be thankful for...
This week left us smiling from the inside out!
We braved the rain...
and took some Thanksgiving cards to our Prayer Pals.
We had them laughing with our fun pictures...
and silly stories!
We were so glad to see our fun friends...
and we were excited to make new friends too.
We have really been enjoying getting together with our Prayer Pals!
They left us a few hugs...
and we had some to share too!
We can't wait to celebrate Christmas with them!
We also celebrated thanksgiving
by sharing our blessings.
We joined the rest of the school in bringing food as our offering to chapel.
We then worshiped together as we discussed being thankful for things
"big and little".
We also had fun learning about David and Goliath.
We acted the story out.
And cheered for David!
But then we realized Jesus is our strength. YAY JESUS!
Then it was time to get ready for our Thanksgiving feast.
We made special Native American headbands.
We also talked about Indian corn and popcorn. .
We then got to shell some popcorn that grew on my uncle's farm.
It was hard work, but it was fun!
Next on the agenda...
Making pumpkin pies!
We poured...
and dumped
and poured in some evaporated milk
mixed in some pumpkin too.
It didn't look very yummy...
But it turned out great!
We couldn't have thanksgiving without turkey!
So we put on our turkey glasses...
and went on a turkey hunt.
We found lots of wild turkeys!
We found some turkeys in the classroom too!
We also went looking for other thanksgiving items.
We had to count them all up.
Singing praises to God was one of the best parts of the week.
So we decided to make our own instruments...
and have our own Thanksgiving Parade!
We played for the Mrs. Stanglein's preschoolers.
We then took our show on the road...
We found some fourth graders on the playground.
Pastor Reitz was surprised by our joyful noise!
Pastor Rouland had to come join us too!
We then ventured back to school playing our instruments the whole way.
We played as loud as could until...
Mrs. Schmidt and Mr. Marolf opened their curtains! They LOVED our parade!
It was a great way to celebrate and praise God!
Finally it was time for our feast!
Some very special people from Zion showed up to help us celebrate.
They are such a blessing to us...
for so many reasons...
that we wanted to make sure we told them thank you!
We enjoyed some yummy food...
complete with turkey
and pumpkin pie!
What wonderful memories we made this week.
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.
Psalm 107:1
