This week we celebrated Red Ribbon Week!
Student Council had a special assembly for the whole school.
They had a fun relay race...
where the students had to work together.
The members encouraged us to take care of our bodies.
They gave us a special "treat"...
a Red Ribbon bracelet reminding us to be "Drug Free".
Tuesday was "Hats off to Being Drug Free".
We had some "Frozen"hats...
some special character hats...
even some fancy hats!
And of course we had some Cardinals' hats!
We also talked about pennies this week.
It was "raining" pennies in our classroom!
We had to figure out just how much money we collected.
Hats off to a great day that left us smiling from ear to ear!
Wednesday we learned...
"Don't get tied up in drugs!"
We also had fun acting out our Bible story as we marched to the Promise Land.
EEKK! We learned about spiders too!
We had to be careful not to get caught in the web,
as we jumped from letter to letter making words.
We "tied up" our learning fun by making letters...
out of ties!
Thursday we "Stayed in the Game. We are Drug Free."
A bunch of team players showed up.
We support a lot of great teams...
Most of all...We are blessed to be winners in Christ.
Friday some unique little friends showed up!
It was "Follow your Dreams" day!
We brought some special little stuffed animals and pillows.
We took time to tell each other about our fuzzy friends.
We then compared them to see how they were alike and different.
To finish up October we opened up our pumpkins.
We opened up three different sized pumpkins.
We took a peek inside...
Each kindergarten felt inside of the pumpkin...
and picked out 5 seeds.
They were amazed at how it felt inside.
Some kindergartners thought it felt weird inside of the pumpkin.
Some kindergartners thought it was pretty slimy!
Others thought it was just plain disgusting!
After we picked out 5 special seeds...
We saved one of them to create a special pumpkin story.
We ended the week with a wonderfully, FUN Friday reader!
"I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made..."
-Psalm 139:14
STUDENT OF THE WEEK
We interviewed a very special student this week.
Here is what we found out...
He is six years old.
His favorite color is yellow.
He has lots of stuffed animals.
He doesn't get sick very often.
He would like a rat for a pet.
He likes to swim.
His favorite food is hot dogs.
If he had a super power, it would be to be a super ninja.
His favorite Bible verse is: Love the Lord your God with all of your heart. Mark 12:30
He is glad that God gave us pools.
