God is LOVE!

Take a peek into another exciting week!

We started off our week doing some exciting winter Olympic warm-ups.

Look at these amazing figure skaters!

They even stuck the landing.  :)

Then it was time to move onto some hockey...

To kick off our reading stations, we read a book that I remember from when I was a kid!
A short, simple story. But a very powerful message.  Being kind can turn someone's day around!

Next up, we headed outside to find some missing hearts.

Once we found a heart, we had to highlight it on our paper.

Inside we were busy working on a heart word search.

The kids LOVED looking at old valentines
and finding heart words on them.

A mailbox game also kept us busy.

Inside each mailbox,

was hidden some "letters".
These expert readers had to figure out how to put the letters together to make a word.

Our week was off the to great start!

Beautiful weather brought lots of smiles to our Tuesday.

We started off our day talking about being a "bucket filler".  Ask your child what it means to be a bucket filler?

For math, we were rolling the dice to see how many valentines would go in the bucket.

After rolling the dice twice,

the kids went shopping at the valentine store.

The next friend filled up the bucket, and we added it all together.

For our reading stations we were busy matching heart letters

to buckets.

We tried to beat the buzzer and get as many matches as possible before the time was up.

After reading this fabulous book, we talked about how to control our voice from "erupting".

Then we did a little erupting of our own for our art project.

The paint had baking soda hiding it,
so when we added baking soda...
we got a little bubbly volcano!
It made quite the masterpiece!

We were sooo excited to sneak outside to finish off our day!
It definitely was a terrific Tuesday!

Mrs. Crumrine got us all ready for Valentine's Day on Wednesday.

The kids loved passing the block around as they practiced keeping to the rhythm.

Then we headed over to chapel, which was led by Mrs. Mudd.

She reminded us we can't keep Jesus' love in a box, a bag, or a jar.  His love is in our heart and will come bubblin' through!

Thank you for your generosity as we continue to support Bethlehem Church and School.
We were already for more valentine adventures!

First up was searching through the bucket for words to read.

Once they read a word, they tossed it back into the bucket.

Another activity was putting these mixed up hearts together to make a sentence.

In the afternoon, we were finishing up a very special art project.

We hope it "BLOWS" you away!
Ms. Steinbacher also stopped by to help us with our memory verse.
She helped them play an exciting game that reminded them...
"Call upon ME in the day of trouble!"

When she called out the word "TROUBLE",

they had to quickly get to a hula hoop and call out their verse.

Then we ended the day with a special birthday reader!

Thursday we were ready to celebrate God's love!

For math we were busy delivering valentines.

We couldn't get more than 10 or it was a BUST!

Some fun boxes arrived for our reading stations.

Every box was very unique!

Then it was time to deliver!

The kids had a great time reading a new book!

They even practiced using silly voices for each character.

The LOVE BOT showed up to help us with our letters.

The kids took turns feeding the LOVE BOT different alphabet valentines.

They loved getting a chance to be the robot!

Finally it was time to PARTY!

Some very special guests showed up!

We couldn't have done it without ALL of their help!

Check out some of our fun adventures!

We were in it to WIN IT in this minute game of stacking and balancing.

When they were done stacking,

some kids decided to make a design.

Mrs. McBroom took a group outside to play a valentine version of musical chairs.

Whatever heart they landed on, they had to do that exercise.

Of course we enjoyed a yummy snack!

We had two great crafts to work on.

This FANtastic project turned into a bouquet of flowers.
They were supposed to give it to a special valentine when they got home!

The kids also made these  OWLmazing bookmarks.
WHOOO had a great time at our party???
We did!
It may have been a short week, but it was overflowing with smiles and excitement!
See you next week!
