We kicked off our week heading to Towne Park.
Check out some of the adventures we went on...
You can count on us to have another great day!
The kids worked hard matching up these letter quilt squares.
The kids also went hunting for extra yarn.
This extra yarn had words hiding on it.
In the afternoon Mrs. Martin was back to teach us more Spanish.
This time we were busy counting.
We practiced counting, using the 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed.
We also tested out our painting skills with yarn.
The kids were amazed at how they turned out!
We also used yarn to measure things in the classroom.
They discovered the cabinet was 3 pieces of yarn long!
They even measured each other!
The geoboards were also on our agenda.
We used them to make pretend quilt squares.
Wednesday Mrs. Crumrine had us rocking again!
This time we took the show on the road.
We headed to Mrs. Horn's class!
For chapel this week we had a new speaker! He taught us the story of Jesus helping his disciples catch a WHOLE BUNCH of fish!
In the afternoon we were joined by a very special visitor.
Everybody calls her Nanny!
She works for an organization called "SEW HOPE".
They sew quilts for boys and girls that live in orphanages in Romania.
The kids had a BLAST learning how to sew too!
They each sewed a little quilt square to take home!
Before Nanny left, we sat around the quilt that is going to Romania and prayed for the boys and girls.
It was "SEW" fun meeting Nanny and her little helpers!
Another day for learning adventures...
First we were building nests for our little birds.
We had to write down the letter that was hiding on the bird.
Then we balanced it on our nest.
The kids were SO proud of themselves for getting lots of birds to balance on their nest.
Then we went bird watching in the hallway.
Once we read the bird word, we had to find it on our paper.
In the afternoon the kids had a great time trying to create their own nest.
They had to use their "beaks" to pick up an item.
When they were all done, they had to try to balance an egg on top.
They were so excited when their nest was able to hold an egg!
It was an EGGcellent day!
We were set for a balancing act to finish our week.
We used a new math tool that helped us with our balancing and adding.
The kids loved putting the little frogs on the scale.
Then they found the number to balance out their frogs to see if their adding was correct.
More nest building popped up at our reading stations.
This time the kids had to read the word stick before placing it on their nest.
Each kid had a chance to use the tweezers to put their word stick on the nest.
They had to strategically place their word stick,
because the next step was placing an egg on the nest.
It wasn't just any egg.
This egg had a word hiding inside.
Once they read their word, they put their egg on the nest.
With each egg that got added,
it got harder to balance.
The suspense was almost too much to bear!
They LOVED this game!
In the afternoon the kids had a blast making "birds" and then heading outside.
It was a challenge to see if their bird would fly!
These birds were ready to spread their wings and fly!
In the afternoon we had another fantastic visitor!
It was Sofia's dad! He told us all about his job at KMOX.
He even recorded our voices and played us cheering for the Cardinals.
It was one beautiful week!
