Take a peek into our week!
It was a very short week, but we managed to squeeze in some fun adventures!
We kicked off our week with an opposite obstacle course.
The kids went over things and under things.
They went in
and out.
The course finished with a soft ball and a hard ball bounce.
We were off to a great start celebrating alike and different.
After gym we bundled up and headed over to music.
Mrs. Crumrine had the kids jamming with instruments.
The kids did a great job of keeping the beat.
Mrs. Oswald led our chapel this week.
She told us a great story about Epiphany.
Thank you for your generosity. This month we are joining with Lutheran schools across the USA for a special mission project with Global Kids' Ministries through Lutheran Hour Ministry. All January offerings will go toward mission work aimed at children in Australia!
Cold, snowy weather didn't couldn't stop us!
Our indoor recess, brought some creative builders!
We read this AMAZING book that reminded us we all are unique.
These little people helped us practicing reading.
The kids worked together to put the people in the right order to make a sentence.
The snowy playground meant some free time in the gym.
This book inspired us to talk about how we are alike and how we are different.
We then used these little people to help us practice our adding.
We rolled the dice to see how many people to put together.
The kids did a great job of adding!
It was time for... OpPoSiTe DaY!

For Jesus time we were learning about how Jesus got baptized.
I showed the kids how sin messes things up.
Every time they told me a sin, I added a drop of food coloring.
Then I added some "special water" that reminded us of our baptism. When I added the "special water" our messy water of sin was washed away and made clean!
In math our WINTER WIZARD brought some items for friends to sort.
Once the items were sorted
another friend figured out how to add the items together.
This hilarious book was about a penguin that always did the OPPOSITE of his friends!
These little icebergs popped up in our classroom.
The kids looked under the iceberg
and found a word.
The kids worked together to assemble a sentence.
If they didn't find a word under the iceberg,
they got to be the penguin that hopped down the icebergs.
At this station the kids worked together to build and Alphabet Town filled with capital and lowercase letters.
They also used hard and soft blocks.
Thick and thin blocks also appeared.
The kids absolutely LOVED doing this opposite activity!
They had a blast going UP the slide instead of going down the slide!
They stood in line and cheered for each other to get up the slide!!!
They were like NINJA warriors trying to get up the slide!
More OPPOSITE building adventures came along in the afternoon.
These 5 little penguins helped us with adding.
We rolled them out and some landed on their backs and some landed on their bellies.
The kids added black and white together.
2 black penguins with 3 white ones = 5 penguins.
We were sad to see our week cut short...
