In the blink of an eye the end of the school year appeared!
Cheers to the last week day of school!
We headed outside for a special surprise...
Mrs. Douglas' preschoolers were having a lemonade stand!
We paid them with a special ticket.
It was delicious!
We even found some familiar faces at the lemonade stand!
The kids were so inspired by the preschoolers, they created their own lemonade stand!
Back in the classroom we were "WHEELING" our way to summer time!
Look at these fun Wheel's Projects!
Each one was very unique!
The kids were so proud of their projects.
From scooters....
to tractors...
We had it all!
ZOOM ZOOM!
The kids loved making ramps for cars to drive down.
Before they could go down the ramp,
they had to pay to go down.
We had some crazy drivers in the group!
I always end the year with this wonderful book.
"You are special because I made you. And I don't make mistakes".
If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it! It is a great reminder for adults too. :)
This led us right into our unique talent show!
Look at this ninja kick!
This inspired other students to get up and try their karate moves!
Some children showed us their gift of creating and drawing.
Others had the talent of singing, telling jokes,
or playing the piano.
We even had some jumpers in the group!
We finished our talent show with some spectacular gymnastic moves.
God gave each of us talents.
It is our job to find ways to use those talents to glorify him.
We were getting all geared up for summer with some BEACH fun!
We did have some special visitors stop by first!
Miss Julia and Miss Betty were back!
The final BIG COOKING SHOW, had us raising our numbers to participate.
Miss Betty and Miss Julia had us slicing and dicing
as we learned about whole and half.
After making a diagram of how they were going to cut the food in half,
some contestants had a chance to cut the food.
Sharing is caring!
We took our beach party outside
to practice spelling our cvc words
with our towels and a beach ball!
The kids LOVED this game!
They also enjoyed reading books on their beach towels.
Measuring their beach towels also made them smile.
They couldn't believe how long their towels were!
They did have a chance to go fishing at the beach.
They caught numbers and had to practice writing them.
They really enjoyed making "sand castles" too!
We ended our day with one more AMAZING visitor who taught us about landscaping and prayed for us too.
I think we are almost ready for SUMMER!
It was such a SUPER year,
We got our capes out
and had a little fun!
We were tossing bean bags
to our popcorn words.
What SUPER readers we are!
The kids also LOVED being SUPER shoppers!
They each got a penny, a nickel, and a dime to spend.
They told me the name of the coin, and they got to spend it!
SUPER SHOPPERS!
We were flying into the last few moments of school...
After shelling popcorn
from a real ear of corn (my uncle grows popcorn)
we wrote down which popcorn word we thought the popcorn would land.
We waited
and waited...
suddenly we could hear and SMELL something!
The kids erupted with excitement when they saw the popcorn start to fly!
They couldn't believe the popcorn was flying out!
We finished off our afternoon by doing some plays.
Each team performed a different play.
This team performed the Little Red Hen.
This group told us the story of the three little pigs
and the BIG BAD Wolf!
That Bad Wolf didn't catch these little piggies!
Another group acted of the Tortoise and the Hare.
And our stories wouldn't have been complete without Goldilocks
and the Three Bears.
The kids LOVED seeing their friends perform.
To end our day we headed to church for our final chapel.
What a year it has been!
These amazing kindergartners are ready to go!
Here is a little video we put together based on a song by Jim Gill.
Now it's time for us to say goodbye for just awhile
So until we meet again, may God's love make you smile.
We'll be friends forever.
Jesus and you and me.
He ties our hearts together.
And friends we'll always be.
Jesus loves you and so do I... ALWAYS!
