Watch out!
We packed a lot into this short week!
We started off our week by reading a book called Wemberly Worried.
We talked about things that we worry about
and created our own worried pictures.
They each showed me their best worried faces.
Don't worry we had plenty of smiles to share too!
We were also busy working on our senses this week.
We used our sense of touch to create these texturized 3-d masterpieces.
We also used our sense of touch to make some unique pieces of art.
Some unique painting tools gave us some fun textures too!
Who knew painting with toothbrushes could be so much fun!
In math we were working on our numbers.
We used spinners
and buttons to help us count.
We even used jewels and lined them up in the boxes.
YAY! We are all winners in this game.
Our SUPER week continued with
ZERO HERO day!
We already made it to 10 days of school!
We used our sense of sight
to play "I SPY a Rhyme".
They also used their sense of sight to save the letters!
These super heroes flew to the rescue to save their matching letter.
All the letters got matched up! Thanks SUPER heroes!
We also read this SUPER book about having the power to choose! It is a great story that teaches kids about making good choices and how it impacts their day.
Our "Iron Man" station also became a balancing act!
These kids worked hard to create sculptures out of nuts and bolts.
Our fine motor skills were hard at work!
What a SUPER zero hero day!
The kids were very excited to head back to the gym this week!
Another fun round of line tag this week.
This time we weren't just walking on the lines...
We added a tagger this week!
We have one more round of line tag next week. I wonder what we will add next to the game???
We practiced a little rhythm in music class.
Each child had a chance to use the tambourine to copy the rhythm.
It was a great way to use our sense of hearing.
Back in the classroom...
We were busy using our sense of hearing to listen for quiet blocks and loud blocks.
The kids also had fun playing a different version of musical chairs!
They went around and around the hula hoops.
When the music stopped they had to hop inside a hula hoop with a letter.
Whatever letter they landed on, they had to shout it out!
We listened to a great story about Howard B. Wigglebottom. It was a great reminder of what a good listener does and why it is important to be a good listener.
The kids also liked using their sense of hearing to listen the jars filled with water.
They played whatever "song" they wanted to on the jars.
Then they poured out the water
to see if that changed anything.
We have quite the musicians in the group!
Our week continued as we headed to chapel on Thursday.
Mr. Debrick led our chapel service this week.
It is so wonderful to worship and sing praises to God together.
More special baptismal birthdays!

We were ready for more SENSATIONAL fun as we made our way back to the classroom.
We did some taste testing to help us use our senses.
We tried something salty.
Most kids liked the salty pretzel.
Our SWEET tootsie roll was a favorite too.
The spicy beef jerky was ok for most kids.
The SOUR grapefruit?
Well... some kids weren't so sure about trying it.
Some were even a little nervous.
But everyone was super brave
and gave it a little try...
OOO... some thought it was VERY sour!
Others gobbled it right up!
Two thumbs up
for being such great taste testers!
The kids also practiced writing letters that they found on food boxes.
They copied their letters on their dry erase boards.
The "Little Old Lady" who usually swallows a fly,
was busy swallowing rhyming words in our classroom.
The kids had so much fun matching up rhyming words
and trying to feed the old lady!
You just had to be careful...
because sometimes she BURPED! :)
In math we "set the table" for a special tasty counting game.
The kids had to connect the food to the right plate with the string
to help them count the right number.
Next they tossed the food onto the plate
as everyone else helped them count.
This was a tasty way to help us practice our one to one counting skills!
