We enjoyed quite a few "LAMB" days this week,
But there was also a lot of monkeying around!
We used our "monkeys in a barrel" monkeys to pick up letters and words.
It was a challenge to pick up a new card without letting any of the other cards drop.
We also learned a new game called, "I'm Bigger!"
It's a great way to practice "great than and less than" concepts.
We also had a bunch of mice running around this week!
These magical mice kept disappearing.
The kids had to write down which letters they thought disappeared.
They also had fun playing "Mouse Trap".
They each had a word chunk like -at, -am, -ig...
If the mouse belonged to them, they had to quickly trap it before it escaped!
The kids also did a great job of making mouse mazes.
Once their maze was complete
They had to carefully lead their mouse through the maze.
After listening to the story "Mouse Paint"
The kids did a little painting of their own.
First they were given drops of the primary colors.
Red, yellow, and blue.
Then they used a fork
to look like mouse tracks.
As they mixed the colors they discovered they could make all the colors of the rainbow.
Magnatile creations were also at their finest this week.
This team worked so hard to make a very unique tower!
They couldn't believe how tall they made it!
Don't look now!
We leaped right into...
WACKY WEDNESDAY!
The kids were busy crawling through tunnels
Looking for real words
and nonsense words.
If they crawled through the tunnel
that had a nonsense word
they had to do a silly dance!
It was a WACKY reading adventure!
More wackiness showed up with our popcorn words.
Our popcorn words were all cut a part and mixed up.
The kids did a GREAT job of putting them back together!
YAY! For Wacky Wednesday.
Check out our best wacky faces
and wacky outfits!
Some kids wore two different shoes!
Check out her dad's shirt!
How WACKY!
Inside out leggings and a Christmas bow turned these girls WACKY!
Silly shirts
and backwards shirts
made these kids WACKY!
Inside out hat??? How WACKY!
A unicorn dress with tennis shoes? So WACKY!
The crazy fun continued inside our classroom.
The kids had so much fun painting
with noodles!
It was quite messy,
but they created some beautiful masterpieces!
The also had fun creating with clay.
The only rule I gave them was that their creation couldn't be real!
They had to use their imagination to come up with something WACKY!
They had SO much fun creating WACKY creatures!
We were a little sad
to say good bye to WACKY WEDNESDAY!
We were all lined up to end the week with a different kind of "letter" adventure!
The kids were able to mail their own letters and cards to their grandparents (and aunts and uncles).
The kids were amazed to discover that Zion has a GIANT mailbox!
They each put two envelopes in the mailbox.
We closed it up and raised the flag. Hopefully our families will get some special cards soon!
The kids had so much fun with this book!
They created their own "napping houses".
It was interesting to see how each child came up with their own ideas
of what a napping house would look like.
This boy even added a ramp!
These two boys worked together to create this unique house complete with a bed inside!
I just love seeing their brains hard at work!
Our napping house fun continued
with our reading game.
If the child had the word on their house,
they had to jump up and down.
If they did NOT have the word
the kids had to take a "nap".
It was a very tiring game!
We dodged some crazy weather this week
but the kids enjoyed every minute of the warmer temperatures.
We even found some three leaf clovers!
Hopefully it brings us some GOOD LUCK for next week's learning adventures!
