We were all geared up to get right back to work.
The kids were eager to build and create this week!
They even amazed themselves with their creations!
Do you dare put one more thing on top??!
YES! We dare! Look at that balance!
It might have been cold outside...
but that didn't stop these kids.
They were doing obstacle courses
and working hard.
They even built a "fire".
They were also hard at work in the classroom.
Check out their popcorn words. They cut them all by themselves!
They were also busy learning about dimes and pennies.
The sneaky banker delivered some money to his customers!
They also had fun working at the SILLY SINGING STORE.
These are some super shoppers!
We also had a lot of fun with stars this week.
The kids designed their own constellations
using sticks and clay.
Do you see the Big Dipper??!
These kids are also STAR readers.
Some "shooting" stars landed.
The kids had to put the letters in the right order to make a word.
As we talked about the wisemen
the kids painted their own pictures of the wisemen and their gifts.
Finally it was our turn to go on a star search.
We put on our best WISE faces and set out on a LOOONG journey.
We saw Mr. Debrick and Mrs. Holtz in the hallway.
We asked them if they had seen our "Baby King", but they hadn't.
So we kept following the stars.
The stars had numbers on them
so we knew we were headed in the right direction.
We thought maybe the cooks had seen the Baby King, but they hadn't.
So we kept going!
The stars took us outside.
BRRR... it was cold! But the kids wanted to keep searching!
The stars finally led us to the Junior High building.
I'm sure there are a bunch of WISEmen and women in there...
but we couldn't find any more stars telling us where to go!
I wanted to give up.
However, one boy shouted... "We are wisemen! Wisemen don't give up!"
So they ran over to Mrs. Steinbacher to see if she had seen the Baby King.
She hadn't seen Him, so the kids headed to recess.
At recess they were SO excited to find the next star!
More stars appeared inside our building!
They led us right back to our classroom.
The kids couldn't believe that the Baby King was in our classroom the whole time???
They found a treasure box where our manger had been.
Inside was a special ornament to remind them of our special journey.
Like the wisemen so many years ago,
Always remember, when in doubt... LOOK UP!
