A short but very exciting week filled with surprises!
We were all set for some PERFECT PUMPKIN adventures!'
A pumpkin number game
had the kids matching numbers
and writing their numbers.
After reading The Runaway Pumpkin
the kids set to work creating their own runaway pumpkins!
First they built a ramp or a hill...
Then they had to figure out how to make sure their pumpkin didn't roll away.
Then they tested it out!
We had some very creative ramps and hills!
They were so excited
when they got the pumpkin to roll right where they wanted it to!
These pumpkins couldn't get away from us!
Some REAL pumpkins arrived on campus thanks to Mr. Debrick and Mrs. Haun!
Each child received their very own pumpkin!
Just like our kindergartners...
each pumpkin was different
and had a little character to it!
The kids were SO excited and proud of their pumpkins!
A HUGE thank you to Mr. Debrick and Mrs. Haun as well as our awesome PTL for the pumpkins!
We will get to do some special things with these pumpkins!
We started off by painting a picture of our pumpkin.
As they were painting they noticed how their pumpkins were similar
and how they were different.
The kids also had fun describing their pumpkins.
It was fun to watch the kids add little details to their pumpkin paintings.
Our pumpkin adventures weren't quite done...
After practicing our 5 Little Pumpkins poem...
the kids had fun acting the poem out.
They built their gates
then they had to balance the pumpkins on the gate.
That got a little tricky!
Then it was time to act the story out.
5 little pumpkins sitting on a gate...
Whoosh went the wind
and out went the lights...
And those 5 little pumpkins rolled out of sight!
