We had another exciting week of learning adventures!
We worked on some sorting this week.
Some kids put the buttons into piles.
Others created their very own graphs!
It was quite interesting to see how they came up with their own methods to organize.
We also had a TREEmendous time with trees this week!
The kids had so much fun designing trees
out of sticks and clay.
It was a little tricky to get it to stand sometimes!
The kids also enjoyed making apple trees out a circles and rectangles.
They even painted their own trees
and stamped on some apples.
They had to use their imaginations to make trees out of wooden sticks and pom poms.
They turned out great!
We worked hard on using our sense of hearing this week.
We played a listening game using little containers.
The kids had to match the sound of a clear container
with the sound of the black container.
It was a bit of a challenge, but they did a GREAT job!
The story of Noah's ark popped up for Jesus time this week.
The kids did another great job of organizing "Noah's animals" on the graph.
The kids also had a GREAT time finding a new boat for Noah.
Then they had to see how many animals could stay a float on the boat.
If the animals sunk, their turn was over.
One by one the animals got on the boat.
The kids anxiously watched to see
how many animals would fit.
Some kids worked really hard
to place the animals in just the right spots to keep it balanced.
They were very surprised at how many animals they could fit on the boat!
Some boats didn't work very well.
It was amazing to watch how they got the boats to hold so many animals!
This week we also celebrated...
ZERO HERO DAY!
We have now been in school for 20 days!
Some SUPER teachers gave us some old Zion t-shirts.
Mrs. Collins turned them into capes for us.
Every time it is a ZERO HERO day we will wear our capes
and pray for the SUPER teacher that gave us our cape.
We read the book Ish by Peter Reynolds.
That inspired us to create our own "ish" paintings.
But first we had to figure out how to create our own paintbrushes.
Then we set to work painting.
Some created pictures of animals.
Others made designs.
They all were amazed at how well their paintbrushes worked!
More beautiful weather rolled our way.
These kids have the best imaginations
and GREAT teamwork
when they get to the "nature playground'.
Some special creatures joined us this week.
Cooper was excited to find them and protect them! :)
We found a lot of new ways to use tires!
What a hard working crew!
They even figured the sticks look like letters!
What a beautiful week to be outside in God's creation.
After reading the book Stick and Stone
we were ready to ROCK kindergarten.
We tried balancing some rocks.
Each rock had a letter on it.
They had to see which letter rock was heavier.
Our sticks were also back to help us make
more fancy trees
complete with buttons!
We had some fun insect investigations.
The kids went on walk looking for alphabet insects.
They had to put the insect in the right jar.
The kids didn't let any insects get away.
We love our insects!
The kids also did a great job of making insects with pattern blocks.
They even remembered to add 6 legs and 2 antennae.
Who knew bugs could be so cute! :)
These kids also figure out a new way to use our linking cubes and alphabet cubes.
They made some amazing towers.
And had so much fun doing it!
We found a very interesting way to write our names.
We made invisible names
but they magically appeared
when we painted over them!
WOW! What a week we had!
Just waiting to see what adventures pop up next week!
