Super Stars

Our week back was quite exciting!

We worked hard on shining like stars this week.

Some stars went missing in our classroom.

The kids had to figure out where the star was hiding.

The kids also went on a star search...

landing their rocket ship on the right star.

They had to write the word on their rocket ship.

Creating rocket ships

and astronauts

was also a fun, yet challenging activity.

Some "galaxy dough" also showed up.

The kids had a great time creating different things out of the dough.

Some even made animals.

While others spelled words!

We also did a lot of artwork with stars.

We talked about the famous painting STARRY NIGHT

and created our own starry night paintings.

Our SUPER shoppers showed up at this silly store!

They had to practice counting by tens as they used dimes.

There was something special about this store...

You had to be very SILLY in order to get the item  that you bought!

The silliness continued with SILLY SOCK Day!

Some silly socks

helped us read some silly stories.

Mrs. Aslin had the kids playing a silly sock reading game.

In math we played a game called "SOCK IT"!

The kids took turns rolling two dice.

The student with the highest number had a sock ball thrown to them!

The kids also had fun measuring socks.

They couldn't believe how 

long some of the socks were!

Some of them were pretty short.

Guess whose socks these are!

Don't worry all the socks were clean.  :)

We also had a sock hop!

The kids had to hop to the right lowercase letter to get a match.

We were definitely dressed for success on Silly Sock Day!

We ended our week with more starry fun!

These WISE children went searching for the Baby King.

Our search had us following stars with numbers on them.

The stars took us all over school.

It was a long trip!

We stopped to ask a few people if they had seen our Baby King.

The cooks had not seen the Baby King.

We stopped by the school office...

but Mrs. Schmidt had not seen Him either.

Even Mr. Marolf had no idea where the Baby King could be.

We found another star that led us outside.

It was raining a little bit but that didn't stop us!

We found a star on the church door AND we found Mrs. Helmkamp.

She hadn't seen anything, so we kept going.

We found another star in the church but no Baby King.

We were about to give up when these WISE children 

spotted a star on the junior high building!

Junior students are very wise 

but they hadn't seen our Baby King.

SO we ventured back out into the rain.

The kids did NOT want to give up!  "We HAVE to find the baby!", they kept shouting!

We were running out of time, so we headed back to our classroom.

Then we found another star on the door to the our building!

We found another in the hallway...

which led us right back to our classroom!

Inside our classroom we found a star, a treasure box, and a special gift.  

The journey reminded us that we don't have to go searching for Jesus because He is always with us.

Our day ended with another fun Friday reader!  She read a FUNNY story about dragons and tacos!

What a SUPER week we had!
