We loved having some SNOW DAYS off from school...
HOWEVER...It was good to be back
and ready to climb our mountain of projects to get done in time for Christmas.
We started by making some jingle bell boxes.
We used magnatiles to create structures
that would hold our bells.
JINGLE ALL THE WAY!
We also had fun working with candy canes.
We discovered they were the shape of the letter J and a shepherd's staff...
but we could also turn them into hearts!
We also did some candy cane reading,
and some candy cane math.
We even used them to create numbers and letters.
Candy cane science experiments
also kept us thinking.
We also did some balancing.
We checked to see how many peppermints would balance with a candy cane.
AND how many candy canes would balance a giant candy cane stick!
We were almost ready to wrap up the week.
But we had a few more adventures to go...
Mrs. Helmkamp was back with a BREAK OUT box.
The clues had us thinking as we tried to unlock the locks.
Each team found a special treasure inside.
We ended our short week by heading over to church.
It was time to help the 8th graders lead a Christmas service.
What a joy to watch these kids telling the story of Jesus' birth.
We were even able to dress up and act out the story.
It was a great reminder that Jesus is the reason for the season.
We had one more thing to do before we left...
PARTY!
Some WONDERFUL parents
came to help us celebrate!
We had a fun craft to put together...
And a challenging jingle bell bean bag toss.
This was a tough competition
between some of the teams.
Next up was a fishing game.
The kids had to roll the letter dice and then try to find a gingerbread man that matched that letter.
SWEET success!
There was a snowball fight too!
It was with a SNOWMAN!
The kids had to try hard
to knock the snowman down.
They had to work hard to get him to fall down!
The kids also played Grinch bingo!
There were no GRINCHES in this class! :)
We are so thankful for our WONDERFUL room parents!
It was another amazing week filled with lasting memories.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
