KinderGARDEN...

Everything was coming up roses this week...
as we spent some time learning about plants.
We also spent some time with some special 3rd graders.
They helped us with a fun art project,
We had to type 5 words that described us,
and we shared a few hugs along the way.

We also found out 3rd graders are great at reading stories,
and so fun to hang out with.
We then painted flags inspired by Jasper Johns on top of the words we had typed.
The result were some very unique  flags...
and a lot of fun new friends!
Parachute was another fun activity we enjoyed this week!

We told the Easter story using the parachute.

We went inside the tomb to see if Jesus was in there...

He is risen indeed!  Alleluia!

Thursday we went on a plant walk.

We were looking for all kinds of plants.

We found some beautiful flowers...

Some trees and bushes...

We even saw some...

beautiful tulips starting to bloom!

There were lots of plants all over campus.

We even found some inside.

This inspired us to draw our own special flowers in the style of Vincent Van Gogh.

We also used a different kind of flour to make this special cake.

We were working on the "-ake" chunk.

So we thought we should make and bake a cake!

It was a special cake called "Puddle Cake".

The result of this puddly mess was a delicious chocolaty cake!
Friday was vegetable day!

We learned a lot about vegetables.

And even painted with them!

Mrs. Boettcher came and talked to us about flowers.

She isn't just a  great cook; she is also an amazing florist!

She showed us how stems help drink up the water.

She even left us a little experiment with flowers.  We'll see if the flowers change color.

It was a great visit, and we learned a lot from Mrs. Boettcher!

To end our veggie day, we tasted veggies!

We were very brave and tried A LOT of yummy veggies (some went back for 3rds and 4ths!).

We then voted for our favorite veggie... it was CARROTS!

It was a great week of fun learning!
