STUFFED with Blessings!

Some wildly exciting adventures popped up in our classroom...

We kicked off the week practicing our stacking cup skills!

In the classroom we were on a roll with our new dice!

After rolling the dice, we had to see how many more we needed to make 6.

After reading this hilarious book...

We made a few turkey traps of our own.

Before "buying" the pieces for the trap, they had to spell the word with magnetic letters.

We had some very creative traps.

I loved how they described how it works!

Next up was putting on some very special turkey glasses.

These special glasses helped them hunt for turkeys!

Once they found the right letters,

they were challenged to put the turkeys together to spell words.

They did great!
In the afternoon we read another great story!  This time the children were trying to save the turkeys!

Soooo... we worked hard to make some turkey protectors!

Each team built something that would hide the turkeys.

When they were done, I had the challenge of finding where they hid their turkeys!

We definitely GOBBLED up some great adventures!

We were all set for more adventures Tuesday!

Another hilarious turkey book to brighten our morning!

First up was matching the word to its turkey.

The kids also enjoyed hiding letter turkeys for their friends to find.

Then they had to write down the letter that was hiding under their cup.

The kids enjoyed hearing the sequel to Turkey Trouble.

Then the kids got to work making turkeys.

The kids also enjoyed painting their memory verse with feathers!

"Give thanks to the Lord for He is good!"

Wednesday we headed over to music class.

It was time to do the TURKEY POKEY!

Next up was delivering our canned goods.

WOW!  Thank you SO much for your generosity!  We could barely carry all of the food down to the entry way.

Back in the classroom a GIANT showed to tell the story of David and Goliath.

"David" was very brave and put on some armor to face the giant.

He discovered he couldn't even move with all the armor on!

David defeated Goliath with a slingshot and some stones.  But we realized that God ROCKS!  He was the one that defeated Goliath, and He helps up defeat our "giants" too!

In math we were trying to see who was trying to steal seconds at our Thanksgiving feast!

The kids had to guess who was hiding a bowl behind their backs.

We got tricked a few times!

Then we had to add up the kids that had bowls and the kids that didn't to equal 7.
The kids loved this game!
This book brought smiles to our faces and got us ready to make our pies!

The kids had a blast helping to make our pumpkin pie.

Each child added something to the pie.

They weren't quite sure how the pie was going to turn out.

Once they were done with their pie, they had to match these pies up to the right word.

Another group was designing a feast with letters.

They used cups, plates, and even spoons that had words hidden on them.

We were also busy delivering some invitations to our feast!
We are so blessed with amazing people at Zion!

We were hard at work in the afternoon making creations with our nature items.

First we spread water on our paper. Then we added our nature items.

Next the kids dropped liquid water color all over their papers.

They couldn't believe the colors they were making!

Another group was making "cupcakes"!

After rolling the dice,

they had to put that many cupcakes in their muffin tin.  Then they wrote down how many more they needed to make 6.

To end our day, we headed to the gym for a very special STACKING CUP activity.

The 8th graders helped us participate in the World Record STACK UP! event!

We had a great time with our new friends!

Thursday morning the kids enjoyed a little creative free time!

Then we headed to chapel.

Mrs. Helmkamp led our chapel.

She reminded us of ways to show love to God and ways to show love to other people.

Because of your kindness, we were able to provide 20 turkey dinners for seminarian families.

Back in the classroom the kids were busy making houses for the pilgrims.

The logs and the people had words for the kids to read too!

What great teamwork!

This group was floating in the Mayflower to pick up a picture and write down what it started with.

They had to be careful not to run their boat into anyone!

Then we braved the cold and mist and finally headed over for our feast.

There were lots of special people that helped serve at our feast!

There were also a lot of special people that joined us for our feast!

It was a feast filled with  friends, thankfulness, and YUMMY food!
Our day wasn't done yet... we were busy working on our musical instruments.

The kids enjoyed decorating their instruments to get them ready for our parade.

They also had fun working together to build the MAYFLOWER.

They were also working on a little "log throwing".
They had to toss the log to the hula hoop filled with numbers.

Whichever number they landed closest to, they had to practice writing.

Ta-da! Another day wrapped in blessings, wonder, and little adventures came to a close.

One final day of Thanksgiving adventures headed your way...

Mrs. Jennings led the kids in TURKEY TAG!

These little farmers were busy sleeping...

The turkeys woke them up and off to the races they went!

Then it was time for our Thanksgiving Day parade!

Our first stop was Mrs. Horn's room.

Then we played for some preschool friends in the Commons.

Our course we had to stop by to see our wonderful cooks!

In the school office, we played for Mrs. Helmkamp and Mrs. Holtz.

Then we headed over to church! The kids loved playing as loud as they could in the church!

Back at school we were busy hunting for animal tracks.
These tracks were interesting.  They had words on the back!

Once they found a track, they marked it off on their paper.

They were trying to get an animal track BINGO!
Another game was a stick game.

They took turns reading the word/letter on the stick.  Then they added the stick to their friends' creation.

They ended up with some very unique designs!

In the afternoon, we were busy tossing pom poms to hula hoops.

The partner had to keep track of how many went in and how many landed out.

When they were done they had to write how many they missed and how many they made for a total of 7.
3+4=7

It was a great way to practice our combinations of 7.

Next up was designing Native American houses.

The kids also took some time to make a Thankful Tree.

They each said five things they were thankful for to add to the tree.

Another great day of building memories.
We thank God for each of you! Wishing you a Thanksgiving stuffed with giggles, gratitude, and all the blessings God loves to give!
