Take a peek at this short week!
Yes, it was a short week.
And last week was definitely hard to "measure" up to,
We were up for the challenge as we kicked off the week with some pumpkin adventures.
Pumpkin stems helped us talk about greater than and less than.
Then we partnered up and sorted some colorful pumpkin seeds.
Once all the seeds were lined up
we figured out which color we had the most of.
we played a spinning number game
and stacked up some "Spookley" shaped pumpkins
It was tricky to stack the pumpkins up!
Then we compared the stack
to a friend's stack to see who had more.
Spinning and stacking turned into quite the challenge!
YAY! We love Monday library days! :)
Chapel Tuesday was led by Pastor Rouland.
He talked about how he dressed up as Snoopy for Halloween but had to cover up his costume because it was raining. However, people still knew he was a dog because he could still bark.
He reminded us that people should know we are Christians by how we talk and how we act.
Thanks for your generosity! We are off to a great start to help pay heating bills.
Happy Baptismal Birthday for these two little ladies!
More pumpkin adventures were popping up in the classroom.
The kids had to line up with the alphabet pumpkins
and match the capital with the lowercase.
The kids also had a great time creating their own "Spookley" pumpkin patches.
Kindergartners never cease to amaze me
with the creativity that keeps popping up!
Balancing pumpkins was another fun challenge for us.
We checked to see which color of pumpkin weighed more.
Then we dug right into some pumpkins
To grab some seeds.
We also enjoyed weighing the pumpkins on a scale.
We were a little nervous to put the big one on the scale.
It weighed a little over 19 pounds!
The little one was half of a pound.
The medium one was two pounds.
Then we checked to see if the pumpkins could float.
They did!
We couldn't believe it!
We attempted to see if the big pumpkin floated.
Unfortunately it was too big for the bucket!
The top of the pumpkin floated!
We were working hard to finish out the week!
We played a game called 4 Corners.
They had to do an exercise in every corner of the gym.
They had to run to the next corner when they were done.
They did scarecrow jumps
Pumpkin squats, scissors jumps, and pumpkin vine arm circles.
They were exhausted when they were done!
In music class...
We worked on following a rhythm pattern.
We love music class!
Back in the classroom we were busy making pumpkin towers.
First they had to use the alphabet cups
and pumpkin cups to build a tower.
Then the kids had to try to balance a tiny pumpkin on their tower.
It didn't always balance out
But the kids did a great job of persevering.
And not giving up.
Great teamwork!
Next up was writing in pumpkin seeds.
First the kids had to pick a card from the pumpkin bucket.
They had to call out the beginning sound on the card.
Then everyone wrote that letter in the tray of seeds.
Some kids even wrote it in the bag of pumpkin goo!
Finally it was time to PARTY!
The kids had a blast playing pin the spider on the web.
They also loved playing Candy Corn Golf!
We even had a Candy Corn cheerleader!
It was such a beautiful day we took our ring toss outside.
was making our very own I SPY jars!
The kids each picked out special treasures and then added rice to their jars.
Look in those jars...
and see what you can find!
Snack time!
The kids wanted to keep their drinks they were so cute!
They devoured their pretzel "web"!
Look at those YUMMY "pumpkins"!
A huge thanks to everyone who was able to come and help out!
We had a FANTASTIC time!
It was a short week filled with beautiful memories!
OH... and we will try to sneak to the library on Tuesday, so don't forget to bring back library books.
