A short week ...
Filled with lots of fun!
We kicked off our study of nursery rhymes this week!
We started off with "Do you know the muffin man?".
One person hid the egg in the muffin tin.
The next person had to trace over the letter where the egg was hiding.
1-2-3-4-5, I caught a fish alive...
Once they caught a fish,
They had to call out the letter and letter sound.
Everyone else in the group had to practice writing that letter.
Next up was Humpty Dumpty!
The kids rolled the dice,
The next challenge was balancing Humpty Dumpty on the wall!
The magnetic wand helped Humpty Dumpty get off the wall safely.
It took a lot of concentration
and sometimes Humpty Dumpty liked to hide.
AND sometimes the wall even fell!
Did Humpty Dumpty live happily ever after?
We were off to the races for our next nursery rhyme challenge.
Jack and Jill...
raced up the hill to fetch a pail of numbers!
They peeked under the pillow to find a number.
Then we cheered for whichever number was the greatest!
The kids LOVED playing this game!
Jack and Jill were back!
This time they were fetching letters!
They had to call out the letter so their friends could write it down.
We finished the week with "I'm a Little Teapot".
After reading the story,
each team chose a cup.
They had to guess how many tiny cups would fit in their teacup.
One person held the cup
while the other one poured.
Some children couldn't look they were so nervous!
Do you dare pour one more cup in?
YAY! They were so excited when they guessed the right amount!
Sometimes they were surprised at how much water their cup could hold!
Some kids just loved getting wet!
They really loved this activity!
More nursery rhyme adventures will be popping up this month...
Stay tuned!
Friendly Reminder: LIBRARY DAY on MONDAY!
