God blessed us with a beautiful week filled with sunshine...
and smiles!
Then we set to work having all kinds of fun with DOTS!
First we designed our own dot-to-dot alphabet game.
The kids had to hop from dot-to-dot,
saying the letters as they hopped along.
It was like a dot-to-dot obstacle course!
Then we designed our very own dots.
We picked out 3 colors and gave our dot a spin...
The kids were AMAZED at how the dots turned out!
We also had fun with the dots on the dominoes!
First we picked a domino
and counted how many dots were on it.
Then we arranged our dot counters to equal the domino.
Then we placed our domino in the middle of the table. Before we left that station, we knocked our domino train down!
Dot names were also something we worked on.
We carefully took the back of our paintbrush and made tiny dots inside each letter of our names.
We had a DOG GONE good time on Tuesday!
We were busy counting dogs.
First we picked a card.
Then we matched our number to the right amount of dog bones.
The last step was putting out the matching amount of dogs.
WHO LET THE LETTERS OUT? Woof, woof, woof!
This hungry little doggy reached inside the dog dish and found a letter for us to practice writing.
These little dogs needed to find their homes.
We were busy matching the lowercase letters (the dogs) to the capital letters (the doghouses).
We also had to practice writing the letters we matched to keep track of which dogs made it safely home.
The kids had a blast making doghouses!
We showed off some of our best dance moves...
When the music stopped we had to race back to the line.
Music class had us passing the pumpkin.
The kids are doing a great job of singing and staying on pitch
as they pass the pumpkin around.
Mrs. Helmkamp led chapel this week.
She talked about a man named Martin Luther.
He wanted to make sure everyone had an opportunity to read the Bible in a language they could understand.
Back in the classroom a bunch of pumpkins started popping up!
Once we read the letter, we had to make the letter with colorful pumpkin seeds.
We also played another game that was a matching game.
We picked a pumpkin from the bucket
and had to find the matching lowercase letter.
We also did some pumpkin puzzles.
We had to put the mixed up pumpkin parts together to make a word!
The kids are becoming very good readers!
We also lost some pumpkins in the hallway.
The kid had to write down all the letter pumpkins they found.
We learned about Joseph and his coat of many colors.
The kids loved using eyedroppers to make some beautiful coats of their own.
Each coat was very unique!
But each one was a masterpiece!
Oh what fun we had with these little pumpkins!
I called out a word.
If a student had the letter the word started with (or ended with)...
they picked up the pumpkin catcher...
and kept it from rolling away!
They LOVED playing this game!
They also enjoyed going to our pumpkin vine
and picking out a letter pumpkin.
They gave their friends a clue, and they had to write down what letter they thought got picked.
We also used pumpkins to help us with math.
We were busy working with 10 frames this week.
One "teacher" put some pumpkins in the patch.
The other students had to make their pumpkin patch match.
The kids also had some messy fun!
We were NOT making a coat of many colors
but we were making a t-shirt of many colors!
We can't wait to wear them on TIE-DYE Tuesday next week!
The excitement was building...
We were finally ready for our trip to Eagle Fork Pumpkin Farm!
There were so many exciting things to do and see!
We had a bumpy but wonderful wagon ride!

There was a great playground to play on!
Sand to dig.
We went on a story walk.
Okay...
it was more like a story RUN!
There was corn to play in.
And animals to pet
and feed.
Of course there were LOTS of fun pumpkins to find!
We even picked out a very pumpkin of our own!
with so many special people.
It was hard to leave such a wonderful place.
Back in the classroom we had a little fun with our pumpkins.
First we measured to see how tall our pumpkins were.
The kids also enjoyed painting a picture of their pumpkin.
They looked very carefully at their pumpkins.
They had to work really hard
to make it look realistic
and add all of the details that made their pumpkin special.
We ended our day with a GREAT book from our special Friday reader that had the kids laughing and grinning from ear to ear!
It was the perfect way to end our wonderful day.
Hats off to another great week!
Pssst... Don't forget those library books on Monday!
