We were looking for some fun this week.
The line up for our week was jam packed with just that.
We kicked off the week acting out the Last Supper.
We began by saying our Bible verse...
"Serve one another in...
LOVE!"
Take and eat...
and remember what Jesus did for you.
Take and drink...
Remember Jesus shed his blood for you.
After singing a hymn we headed out to "the Garden of Gethsemane".
The children each found a quiet spot
and took a few moments to pray.
It was a perfect way to start our week.
Our day continued with some wind catching.
The kids each had a turn to test out their wind catcher (plastic bag).
They tested to see what caught the most wind...
walking
or running!
We were excited to celebrate JELLY BEAN DAY!
Mrs. Collins helped the kids make a "jelly bean" bag.
The kids had to pick out the right jelly beans
to match the sentence on the bag.
Sweet success!
Mrs. Smith also stopped by.
She helped the kids with a sound game.
The kids tossed a jelly bean into the basket for every sound they heard.
Of course we did a little taste testing at our jelly belly factory.
We found some odd ones in the mix.
We did some investigating
looking for any belly flops.
Some were too little...
some were too big.
Some even got squashed.
We also worked on balancing and weighing the jelly beans.
The jelly beans also helped us do a little math,
as we made graphs
and even measured with jelly beans too!
The kids discovered jelly beans could even turn into artwork!

The kids used teamwork
to create some wonderful masterpieces.
It was hard work getting
those beans to move.
After a lot of shaking
and
rolling
the kids each had a unique masterpiece to show for their hardworking.
We also did some bunny hopping this week.
The kid each hid a bunny underneath one of the eggs.
They took turns guessing which popcorn word they thought the bunny was hiding.
The kids had to work quickly
before the bunnies hopped away.
We were also hard at work
making baskets for our Easter egg hunt.
After reading, How to Catch the Easter Bunny
the kids set to work creating their own Easter bunny traps.
They worked in teams to figure out the best ay to catch the Easter bunny.
The kids also had a great time painting Easter eggs!
Thursday was a very special day.
We followed our DCE Mr. Woods for a special chapel service.
We had 3 stations to reflect on Good Friday. We started out singing "Do You Know Who Died for Me?"
Station #2 Mr. Wood talked about the crown of thorns and the black cloth.
We also did a special litergy.
We closed by having each child create a rock
with a cross on it.
Hopefully it will be something they treasure.
It was a great reminder of Good Friday
and why we celebrate it.
Back in the classroom
we were doing some EGGcellent reading.
Inside each egg the kids found a mixed up word.
The kids had to put the letters in the right order to make a word.
They had to write it down and check it with their answer list.
It was amazing to watch their brains work
as they created egg catchers.
They dropped the eggs down the shoot
and made sure they didn't drop or break!
Finally it was time to go on our Easter egg hunt.
They looked all over the "nature playground" to find the eggs.
Some eggs had candy in them.
There was one egg that was shaped like a plastic cross.
And one had a seed hiding in it to plant.
They also found a wooden cross to take home and decorate.
Despite it being a cold, windy day
the kids had a great day of celebrating Easter a little early!
He has RISEN.
He has RISEN indeed!
ALLELUIA!
